'There are 1.6 million people living with cancer in England 1 and many need support to manage the long term consequences of their disease. We are, therefore, pleased that the report acknowledges the key role that nurses should play in caring for people with long-term conditions.
'It is vital though that this support is available throughout a cancer patient’s journey; from the point of diagnosis, as they are treated and at the end of their lives. Access to 24/7 nursing care is particularly crucial in allowing patients to spend their final days at home if they wish.' Nfgbfg
