Annual Activity Report of 'PAHAL' 2013-2014

With the start of year 2013-14 PAHAL entered its Adultness. The year 2013-14 is another year where PAHAL fulfilled their dreams. This year was full of activities where all the member of PAHAL visited various places. ‘PAHAL’ motivated the people towards the personality development, environment awareness, health awareness, and social education etc.

In this year PAHAL organized various campaigns in brief which is listed below:-

PAHAL done various activities in Health, Education and Environment sector

Blood Donation Campaign:-

Health Sector:- ‘PAHAL’ believes that health is the super most and first priority of society PAHAL celebrates special days proclaimed by state, National Government or international organizations like Govt of India, United National.

(1)Dated on 03/07/13 Voluntary health institution of India in collaboration with PAHAL organized sensitization and orientation workshop for T.B. prevention, control, investigation and treatment schemes of government of India and government of Punjab for NGO’s.

(2)Dated on 25/08/13 PAHAL organized HIV/AIDS reviewing meeting in PAHAL TI Nakodar. The main motive of this meeting was to review all facts and figure about cured Patients from the HIV/AIDS and also discussed in which area mostly patients are detected.

(3)Dated on 24/11/13 PAHAL organized Medical camp in Bhandal Bet, Distt Kapurthala, in which specialized doctors investigated patients and provided medicine and consultancy as per the need of hour.

(4)Dated on 28/11/13 PAHAL organized awareness camp on HIV/AIDS. In this meeting explained what is HIV/AIDS, Symptoms, treatment of the HIV/AIDS.

(5)Dated on 21/02/14 PAHAL organized TB workshop. In this meeting all the selected personality of the various organization and locality held in head office PAHAL to dist. TB Forum Jalandhar.

(6)Dated on 02/03/14 PAHAL organized free Physiotherapy check up and treatment camp in the campus of Nirmaan School in collaboration with DAV Institute of Physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

(7)PAHAL (NGO) organized awareness and educative lectures in NIRMAN SCHOOL on Health, Environment and in Indian Medical Institute of Nursing, Bidhipur Phatak on Women's Health in India and in NCLP School on malnutrition and our BPL marginal population on World Health Day

Voluntary Blood Donation camp

During this year 2013-14 PAHAL organized large number of voluntary blood donation camp with the collaboration of blood bank, Civil Hospital Jalandhar.

1)Dated on 05/04/2013 PAHAL organized VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION CAMP in collaboration with Lovely Professional University. Total 125 units of blood were donated.

2)M.G.N College of Education Organized Blood Donation Camp by Red Ribbon Club in coordination with PAHAL, an NGO on 7th may 2013

3)Dated on 15/05/2011 Youth organization PAHAL organized VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION CAMP in collaboration with DAV AYURVEDIC COLLEGE JALANDHAR on the occasion of INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FAMILIES.

4)Dated on 19/5/13 PAHAL organized Blood Donation camp with the collaboration of Sikh Youth Society in Bhagat Singh Colony Jalandhar. 51 persons donated blood in this camp.

5)Dated on 16/06/13 PAHAL in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society Jalandhar and Medical superintendent Civil Hospital Jalandhar organized special function to honor organizations that contribute in the cause of voluntary blood donation, honored volunteer blood donors and also organized voluntary blood donation camp on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day.

6)Dated on 21/6/13 PAHAL organized a voluntary blood donation camp at Vodafone South office Prag pur Jalandhar Jalandhar city. Total 31 units of blood were donated. The blood bank team of Shahgeed Babu Labh Singh civil hospital Jalandhar city collected the voluntary donated blood under the guidance of Ms Sudeep Dhillon councilor.

7)Dated on 12/07/2013 PAHAL organized voluntary blood donation camp in PCO ,First Source. It was 483rd blood donation camp, sense its inception. This camp was inaugurated by Mrs. Harvider Kaur. 50 young boys and girls donated blood in this camp voluntarily. The same has been collected by Dr. Navneet Kaur with the help of Blood Bank team of Civil Hospital, Jalandhar

8)Dated on 24/09/2013 Youth organization PAHAL in collaboration with assistant Director Youth Services Jalandhar and NSS department Mehar Chand Polytechnic Jalandhar organized VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION CAMP in honor of 106th Birth Anniversary of SHAHEED-E-AZAM S. BHAGAT SINGH in which 107 young boys and girls donated blood.

9)Mehar Chand polytechnic Jalandhar and Youth Organization PAHAL jointly organized voluntary Blood Donation camp to mark 83rd anniversary of shaheed -E-Azam S. Bhagat Singh in MCPJ in collaboration with NSS, MCPJ.

10)PAHAL organizes a voluntary blood donation camp with the collaboration of HDFC bank on the occasion on New Year.

11)PAHAL organized Blood Donation camp on the occasion of Vasakhi at APEEJAY Management and Technical Campus. More than 70 students donate blood in this camp.

12)Youth Organization ‘PAHAL’ organized Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in Vill. Gagrewal with the achieve and coordination Adv. Amrit Singh Dhara and Adv. Manjinder Singh Bhullar. Blood bank team under the guidance of Dr. Gagandeep Singh BTO civil Hospital, Jalandhar collected 60 units of blood.

Blood Group and HB testing

Dated on 11/12/13 PAHAL organized Special camp for Blood group and HB testing at Government SeniorSecondary School, Mand in connection with World AIDS Day. In this camp more than 450 tested are done.

Women Empowerment Program

PAHAL has program on women empowerment in connection which National Agriculture and rural Development Bank RO CHD under which objective is women empowerment of remote rural area of Distt. Jalandhar and Kapurthala. Till date PAHAL has covered 100 villages in both village and connected around 3000.

1)Dated on 19/07/2013 DAV College Jalandhar organized a seminar cum film shared program in collaboration with Dist. Health Department during the save the girl Child campaign fortnight against female feticide in the auditorium of DAV college Jalandhar. Dr. R.L. Bassan CS jalandhar was the chief guest and Dr. Shiv Dyal Mail DFPO presided over. Dr. B.B. Sharma Principal DAV College Jalandhar referred to the long standing women empowerment tradition of DAV moment in India.

2)Dated on 23/07/2013 PAHAL organized campaign of self help group with the collaboration of NABARD in dist. Kapurthala .

3)Dated on 08/10/2013 Self Help Group training workshop was organized by NABARD along with Youth Organization PAHAL. On this occasion training regarding bank system, availing loans was given. Trainees were different workers of Self Help Groups.

4)Dated from24 February to 8 March 2014PAHAL organized MEDP with the collaboration of National Rural and Development Agriculture Bank RO Chandigarh. In these program more than 35 women got certificate in candle making, hand wash, detergent making.

5)Dated from 2 March to 14 March2014 ‘PAHAL’ organized Micro Entrepreneurship Development Program for mature Self Help Group members of village Kakar Kalan under the guidelines of National Rural and Development Agriculture Bank Regional office Chandigarh.There are around 2700 women SHG members who have enter loaned an amount of 1 crore out of their total accumulated money, around 1.8 crore. Some of mature SHG members have already when the entrepreneurs and are marketing their Food Products like Jams, Murabas, Chutneys and Pickles. In the recent training 38 women of different mature SHG got trained. Now these trained women will go for entrepreneurship development.

6)Dated on 8 April,2014 Self Help Group training workshop was organized by NABARD along with Youth Organization PAHAL. in this workshop District Development manager NABARD, Mr. Rajesh Dutta told that "In Punjab till now more than thirty thousand Self Help Group are linked with bank and more than half of them have availed the benefits of loan from different banks. He explained about SHG, Joint Liability Groups (JLB).

Environment Sector

PAHAL organized different programs for the sustainable development of environment.

1)Dated on 18/07/2013 Youth Organization PAHAL, while continuing its regular campaign of tree plantation triggered of the initiative Maha Van Mahotsav at D.A.V College, Jalandhar. During the this inaugural campaign 251 saplings of Neem, Bottle Brush, Keshia Galuca, Sukh chain and many more were planted. At the event Sh. Vishal Chauhan IFS, Forest Department ensured their all support to the cause of forestation. Sh. Lachmann Singh Malhi and Kulwant Singh officer Forest range office also graced the event.

2)Dated on 02/08/2013 Youth Organization ‘PAHAL’ with collaboration with Forest Department Jalandhar Organized tree plantation camp in the campus of Red Cross School Fro Hearing Impaired Children, Maqsudan. In this camp, 50 Saplings of Neem, Bottle Brush, Jamun Akash Neem etc. were planted in School.

3)Dated on 17/08/2013 223 ABOD of Indian Army, youth NGO PAHAL in collaboration with Forest Department Jalandhar organized Tree Plantation Marathon in cantonment here Today. 10,000 saplings of timber, shade and fruit values as teek, Sheesham, Jamun, Amalthaas, Amla, Bahera, Harad, Sukhchain, Kichnar, Gulmohar Neem, Akash Neem etc will be planted in the coming few days.

4)Dated on 7/11/13 PAHAL observed WORLD POPULATION DAY IN LABOUR BHAWAN Bhagat Singh Colony Jalandhar.

5)2nd February is being celebrated as WORLD WETLANDS DAY every year as proclaimed by Ramsar Convention and adopted by UNO. Year 2014 is the UN International Year of Family Farming – so the Ramsar Convention chose Wetlands & Agriculture as theWorld Wetlands Day theme for 2014.PAHAL with assistance of Punjab State Council for Science & Technology conducted Painting Competition for Colleges students on the theme of wetlands at Kanjli . 120 student colleges of PCMSD College, Apeejay College of fine arts and Innocent Hearts Education College Jalandhar.

6)PAHAL NGO celebrated Earth day in NCLP School on 22nd April , 2014

PAHAL’s Production MANZIL TO AGGEpresented in lions Bhawan

Pahal’s initiated tele film has been completed and presented in Lions Bhawan dated on 25/06/2013 in front of selected audience of Governments health officers, officer from Punjab State AIDS control Society and major industrialists.
Satwant Singh, the writer and director of the movie, who is also credited with various films and documentaries on social issues like female foeticide, religious superstitions etc. adds, in this tele film "We tried to inspire the patients and their families while addressing the stigma of AIDS and the negative image that victims of AIDS have to deal with. The movie tries to show practically every social and familial aspects faced by a patient, which Indians are very reluctant to talk about".

Distribution of books and stationary

Dated on 13/07/2013 Youth PAHAL organization distributed books and stationary among 27 boys and 23 needy student of NCLP School.

International youth day

Dated on 12/08/2013 PAHAL in collaboration with S.D College Jalandhar organized a program to observe International Youth Day 2013.

International day of older persons

PAHAL (Youth NGO) observed 1 October the International Day of Older Persons in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Jalandhar. Major Tajinderbir Singh CIVIL JUDGE SENIOR DIVISION cum secretary District Legal services Authority was the chief guest.

REAL LIFE HERO

TYAGA (NGO) Odisha honoured as REAL LIFE HERO on 5th NATIONAL WORKSHOP & CONFERENCE OF VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONORS ORGANIZATIONS 6 MOTIVATORS IN Burla town of Sambalpur District of Odisha on 14, 15th December 2013. The purpose of workshop is to strengthen Voluntary blood donation campaign in India with special reference to VBD in Punjab

Mr. Punjab and Mr. Jalandhar Bodybuilding Championship

On the occasion of NATIONAL YOUTH DAY 2014, in connection with 150th Anniversary Celebration of Swami Vivekanand Ji,Jalandhar in Association with PAHAL, NGO Jalandhar, Amateur Bodybuilding organized Mr. Punjab and Mr. Jalandhar Championship on12th January 2014atKang Resorts, Pathankot Road, Jalandhar. This was 4th Annual body Building Championship by PAHAL. The earlier championships were grand success and 80 participants in 2010, 120 in 2011, 180 in 2012, in this event 350 bodybuilder out of Punjab state participated.

Honored of Shubreet:- a legend Dancer

Dated on 08/03/2014 D A V College Jalandhar & Youth organization ‘PAHAL’ honored Ms. Shubhreet Kaur Ghuman in frontof houseful audience of D A V College auditorium along with her mother Mrs. Charanjit Kaur Ghuman. Sr. B B Sharma said that Shubhreet Kaur is not only an icon figure but a role model for the youth today.

Pledge to vote for a Better India

A function was held at D.A.V college campus for the awareness of Lok Sabha elections 2014, in which teaching, non teaching, staff officials and students participated with great enthusiasm. On this occasion in-charge officer Prof. Lakhbir Singh presided over the oath ceremony and motivated students to use their right to vote.
