For the powerboat and personal watercraft courses we will be working to a Royal Yachting Association syllabus. Each course will cover all aspects of the award and will be both theory and practical based. Most of the sessions will be hands on giving you as much time ‘doing’ and learning through experience. Most of the coursewill take place in the harbour at the mouth of the River Tyne. We are fortunate to be able to launch straight into the harbour area from our centre maximising your time afloat. The centre has showers and changing rooms available to use as well as lockers for your personal effects whilst you are out on the water. Depending on the time of year we will provide you with either a wetsuit or a drysuit, a jacket and a buoyancy aid. Other equipment will be provided dependant on the course that you have booked on.

You will need to bring with you: towel, spare t-shirt/long sleeved top, old shoes, swimming costume/shorts & a plastic bag. For full day courses a packed lunch will also be required. Hot drinks are available along with chocolate and soft drinks. If you have your own equipment and clothing, please feel free to bring it.

Course Fees include all instruction, equipment & certification. We will meet at the Water Activities Centre, NE33 1LH. All courses will begin at 9.15 am and will finish at approximately 5 pm.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the course fees payable when making a booking

Course fees payable 2 weeks prior to course start date.

If you cancel your place on the course you will be subject to a cancelation fee. (2 weeks prior to course taking place 50% course fees, 1 week 80% course fees. 24 hours, no refund available).
