Richard Fenning
Chief Executive Officer
Richard Fenning is the Chief Executive Officer of Control Risks.
Richard joined Control Risks in 1993 and was head of the firm's New York office from 1997-2000. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2001 and CEO in 2005.
Richard is a well-respected speaker on how geo-political risk can impact on a company's operations and on the role of the private sector in fragile and post-conflict states.
Recent engagements include the Foreign Policy Centre, the Economist Summit, The Oxford University Union, The International Economic Forum of the Americas and the FT Emerging Markets Forum. In addition, in 2007, he was called to contribute to a congressional oversight committee in the United States and to a foreign policy commission in the United Kingdom.
Before joining Control Risks, he worked in the accounting and management consulting profession principally with Price Waterhouse Consultants. This period included three years with Price Waterhouse in Tokyo.
Richard has an honours degree in Modern History from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom and in 2004 attended the Advanced Management Programme at Insead business school in France. He is an ambassador of emergency medical relief charity, Merlin and sits on the Advisory Panel for Durham University's Global Security Institute.

Tom Griffin
Managing Director, West Africa
Based in Lagos, Tom has overall responsibility for the West Africa region in Control Risks and manages an operation with over 150 consultants and staff spanning 8 countries including offshore work across the Gulf of Guinea. With offices in Lagos and Port Harcourt, Control Risks has been operating in Nigeria for over 30 years where support to clients ranges from off / onshore threat monitoring and counter-piracy & kidnap response through to coordinating the complex and challenging security operations of a wide range of Nigerian and International clients. Tom was formerly a Vice President with International SOS in the US and Canada and prior to that enjoyed success with a number of international assignments across the group.

Uche Orji

Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA)

Uche Orji is the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA). He brings a wealth of global experience in the financial services sector in his role as pioneer Chief Executive Officer of the NSIA.

He joined the NSIA as CEO on October 2nd 2012, from Switzerland’s largest bank, UBS Securities, where he was Managing Director in the New York branch of its Equities Division. Prior to UBS Securities, Uche spent 6 years at JP Morgan Securities in London, from 2001-2006, rising from the post of Vice President to Managing Director within the Equities Division. Prior to JP Morgan, Uche was at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, London from 1998-2001, as Analyst/Portfolio Manager.

Mr. Orji has provided strategic advice to leading global technology companies such as Intel Electronics, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Samsung Electronics and Texas Instruments in addition to several global portfolio management firms and Sovereign Wealth Funds.

Uche serves on the Boards of the Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Company, NSIA Motorways Investment Company and NSIA Power Investment Company.

He studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria and also obtained an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1998. Prior to his Harvard MBA program, Uche worked at Diamond Bank Plc, and Arthur Andersen & Co. in Lagos, Nigeria.
