A RESOLUTION in honor and loving memory of James William "Jim" Brown.

WHEREAS, James William "Jim" Brown was born on November 4, 1971. A native of Frankfort, Mr. Brown served his country in the United States Army and United States Air Force with courage and distinction during Operation Desert Shield/Storm and the war in Afghanistan. He was a devout member of The First Church of God, and so enjoyed worship that he taught himself to play the drums and performed in the church praise band. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, and was an avid fisherman; and

WHEREAS, Jim Brown is remembered for his personal integrity, his love for and devotion to his family, his generosity to his friends, and his kindness to all; and

WHEREAS, Jim Brown departed this earthly life for his Heavenly Home on February 13, 2012, at the age of 40, and an entire community joins his family and friends in mourning his loss. He is survived by his wife, Gabriela Brown; his children, Therese Claire Raymond, William Ayden Brown, and Erin Isabel Brown; his stepchildren, Juan Pablo Garcia and Gabriela Garcia; his parents, Danny and Diane Hill Harrod; his siblings, Mark Shelton (Crystal) Harrod, and Danny Lee (Kelly) Harrod, Jr.; his grandmother, Margaret Saunders Hill; his aunts and uncles, Reva Vest, Steve (Veronica) Brown, Rodman (Beverly) Brown, Larry (Loretta) Hill, Judy (Frank) Stevenson, and Yvonne Hill; his nieces, Katelyn Harrod, Allison Harrod, and Maggie Harrod; and his nephew, Samuel Harrod. He was preceded in death by his father, William Stanley Brown, Jr.; his paternal grandparents, William Stanley Brown and Archie Jane Brown; his maternal grandfather, James B. Hill; and his uncle, William R. "Bobby" Hill;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives expresses its most profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of James William "Jim" Brown, and extends its heartfelt sympathy to his family, friends, and community.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of James William "Jim" Brown.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit four copies of this Resolution to Diane Hill Brown Harrod, 1173 Richliev Lane, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
