POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: Accounting Analyst-Accounts Receivable
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
An Accounting Analyst performs advanced accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, invoicing, receivable and aging report analysis, collection activities via our third party contractor, cash receipts reconciliation, and business reporting. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Controller.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Manages Revenues and Receivables –
- Inputs, edits and corrects revenues and receivables transactions for student, state, county, and federal transactions using Banner.
- Reviews, reconciles, and adjusts all receivable accounts monthly.
- Prepares, monitors and reviews the distribution of surplus funds processManages Collections - Coordinates collections via our third party contractor tracking and verifying agency reports for accuracy and performance; tracks and prepares uncollectible for write-off.
- Supervises Student Account RepresentativeCustomer Service - liaison between the students and public regarding college fees, payments, and general college activities or processes.
- Liaison with Enrollment Services
- Trouble shoots student non-payment issues. Composes and mails reminder letters to individuals with outstanding balances.
- Coordinates efforts with Enrollment Services and Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs to solve unique student issues regarding the link between student class performance and student Aid / funding. Manually adjusts fees on student’s accounts for various issues; state waivers, administrative refunds, etc.
- Liaison with University Books Online (UBO); prepares monthly requisition for UBO invoices.
- Key member of Monthly Accounting Close; Prepares Monthly Operational Journal Entries.
- Key member of Annual Accounting Close
- Assists the Accounting Analyst-Payroll and Expenditures
- Assists in all College recruitment & retention efforts as appropriate.
- Required to attend spring Graduation/Commencement ceremony.
- Additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
- Graduation from an accredited two-year college or university with an Associate’s Degree in a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Three (3) years accounting experience or bookkeeping experience.
- Knowledge of College and accounting department policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of accounting concepts.
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet software such as Word and Excel.
- Ability to operate a PC, keyboard, computer, mouse and typewriter.
- Ability to operate a cash register and credit card terminal.
- Ability to make mathematics calculations and tabulations accurately.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
- Ability to complete a variety of tasks simultaneously under time constraints and stressful situations.
- Ability to communicate using speaking, hearing and visual skills.
- Skill in typing and using a calculator.
SALARY: $32,857
