Wellesbourne Cricket Club – Development Plan (2017)
(1) Club Background
Club Mission Statement:
To promote and provide cricket playing opportunities to individuals of all ages and abilities. To enhance the sporting experience of club members and to provide facilities for and promote participation of the whole community in the sport of cricket.
Aims & Objectives:
The aims & objectives of WCC are to continually improve.
Our ECB One Game Pledge: improve our clubhouse facilities for all - umpires, players, disability access.
· WCC aim to maintain, retain & increase membership of all ages & abilities
· WCC aim to compete at the top level in the Cotswold Hills League & for the 2nd XI to compete in the highest division possible (currently Division 2 for 2014).
· WCC aim to maintain & add to the club’s identity in the village of Wellesbourne & the surrounding areas.
· WCC aim to maintain their relationship with the Warwickshire Cricket Board.

· Home ground: Loxley Close, Wellesbourne, CV35 9RU.
· 13 track square on shared playing field with Wellesbourne senior & junior football sections; part of the Wellesbourne Sports Association.
· 2 outdoor practice net facilities.
· Pavilion – incorporating; 2 x changing rooms, showers, gents & ladies toilets, kitchen & bar.
· Storage/garage area incorporating umpires changing facility.

*WCC maintains contact with the above schools. The schools are kept informed of coaching available throughout the summer months.
(5) 5 Year Future Objectives
· Planning permission received to extend pavilion. Phase two - upgrade & improve the main body of the pavilion facilities; new changing rooms, showers, toilets (ladies, gents & disabled), storage, cellar & increased social space.
· To add to our growing list of qualified coaches.
· To maintain/increase the number of junior member teams competing at all levels, currently under 9, 11,13 & 15 (2017).
· To retain & increase our senior playing membership.
· To increase parent involvement in junior cricket, both & on the field. Encourage parents to engage in relevant coaching opportunities, whether it be playing, umpiring or scoring.
· To maintain/increase the social aspect of the club.
