What is the Braintree Fund for Education, Inc.?

The Braintree Fund for Education, Inc. (BFFE) is a non-profit organization, comprised of members from all 10 Parent Teacher Organizations, whose mission is to raise funds for the BraintreePublic School System. The fund directly benefits the High School, East Middle, South Middle, Flaherty, Highlands, Hollis, Liberty, Morrison, Ross and the IntegratedPre-School.

What has the Braintree Fund for Education accomplished?

The BFFE has sponsored two fund raising events: The 2006 & 2007 Jim Plunkett Nights at Florian Hall in Dorchester. Combined, these two events raised over eighty thousand dollars. The 2006event funded the wiring of every elementary classroom in the system for high speed internet access as well as purchasing 11 LCD projectors for BraintreeHigh School, SouthMiddle School and EastMiddle School. As a result of the 2007 event, 24 LCD projectors were purchased, installed and 24 teachers (see back of page for a list of recipients)received training on how to operate the projectors.

What are the future goals of the Braintree Fund for Education?

The BFFE will continue to support the advancement of technology within our schools. We also hope to establisha mini-grant program for our teachers to enhance the educational lives of their students.

The BFFE will continue its fundraising mission by hosting “An evening of Entertainment” on Friday, March 14, 2008 at Florian Hall in Dorchester. The event will feature Jim Plunkett in the Main Hall and Braintree’s own Kathy Porter (vocalist) and Kathy Clancy (on the Keys) in the Piano Bar Café.

The BFFE is soliciting Ad Book and Corporate Sponsors.

The BFFE invites everyone to come and join us in achieving our mission: parents, teachers, principals, school administrators, school committee members, elected officials, business leaders and the community. Together, we believe, we can continue to make a difference and have a positive impact on our children’s education by giving them the academic resources that they need to succeed.

How can my FAMILY financially support the BFFE?

Families have the opportunity to have their name and school listed on the Family Listing page for a donation of $35.00. Our goal is to have a minimum of ten families per school pledge $35 and for each 10 family listings we will be able to sponsor a mini-grant for a deserving teacher.
