ADOPTED MINUTES

Call To Order: 19:03 by President Orest Trzaska

Present: Orest Trzaska, Troy Patten, Pamela Kellner, Tammy Farnholz, Andrea Barrett, Cory Anne Holmlund, Joanne Carter, Josh Zanolli, Brendin Eshpeter, Jackie Pearson, Bob Koethler, Don Polard, Colin Tuckwood, Katrina Dawes, Kim Prokopow, Darren Fedorus

Absent: Kevin Breland (on ice), Sarah Eshpeter, Krista Colford (Atom Popcorn Sale)

A. Fall AGM Summary

1. Emergency Response of DVMH Membership was efficient; require blankets for first aid (consult with Omniplex on a storage location)

2. Evolution of the Evaluation Process:

Suggestions from General Members:

a. Orientation meeting for all parents to review Skill Session criteria that will be evaluated upon.

b. Set specific time frame for notification of all teams in a division to receive information on placement; Team 1 will wait until Teams 2 & 3 are established and coaches are in place.

c. Review the possibility of outside Evaluating Companies to be hired for the placement process.

d. Request for more evaluator feedback to the players.

e. Division Director address evaluation expectations with players prior to the process.

f. Do not identify top six to avoid any discrimination among players.

g. Review the possibility of having evaluations for Team 1 first, then continue for the next teams with fewer players on the ice.

3. Ice Scheduler as a paid position: General Member, Nadine Benoit & Kim Prokopow will summarize salary quotes from similar sized organizations and have Colin present to Executive.

B. Meeting Wrap-up: CONCERNS:

1. General members are not educated in the policy regarding evaluation and team & coach selection; updated policy must be posted and awareness of availability increased.

2. Communication between General Membership and Executive needs more exposure; how can we get the membership to attend important meetings?
