RE:2017/2018 School Safety & Access Control System

SCHOOL SAFETY – No access into Pre-K A or Pre-K B from the parking lot.

An access control system is in effect to promote a safe learning and work environment by restricting access during the school day and during Extended Care when the office is closed.In order to increase safety and to better use the school’s access control system the way it is intended, there will be no access into Pre-K A or Pre-K B from the parking lot. ALL Pre-K drop off and pickups will be on the play yard side of the building.

PRE-K ONLY – No School on October 20th.

In addition to K-8 holiday schedule dates, October 20th is NO SCHOOL FOR PREK ONLY. We are going to our Pre-K Staff Fall Institute.

PRE-K WHAT TO WEAR:

There is not a required uniform until Kindergarten! Pre-K is a time to experience our environment. We do this by providing a curriculum that is very sensory based. This can be a really messy job! Your child will go home with their day showing on them! In light of this, think of your child’s independence and provide clothing that is free of complicated fastenings. To decide if your child is appropriately dressed, ask yourself, “Will I be upset if he/she comes home with dirt or paint on this outfit?” If the answer is “Yes”, please change to more suitable clothing. Think about our playground and provide clothing that is sturdy. For SAFETY, we ask that children wear shoes with rubber soles, NOT: Cowboy boots, jellies, sandals or Crocks. NO open toed shoes are allowed. Shoes should allow freedom to play both inside and safety for outdoor time. No-laces shoes are highly recommended.

PRE-K SCHOOL & EXTENDED CARE HOURS

Pre-K drop off is from 8:10am - 8:30am.

Half day school hours from 8:30am - 11:55am.

Full day school hours are from 8:30a.m. to 2:30p.m. Signed into Ext. Care 2:50.

Friday half day hours are from 8:30am –11:30am. (Pick up by 11:55 but parkingwill be full due to K-8 12:00 dismissal)

Extended Care is offered in the mornings M-F from 7:00am - 8:10am.

Extended Care is offered in the afternoon M-F from 2:30pm-6:00pm (halfdays: 11:30am-6:00pm)

PREK STUDENTS MUST BE SIGNED IN & OUT BY PARENT/GUARDIANS. This signature is required by law and is also to insure your child’s safety. Licensing can charge us $100 for students who have not been signed in or out.
