Dear 8th Grade Parents/Guardians and Students:
On behalf 8th Grade Team, we would like to welcome you back to Desert Thunder School this fall. We are excited to begin the 2015-2016 school year and look forward to working with all of you to ensure a successful year for everyone.
Middle school students will be held to a high standard in academics and individual independence. This is an exciting and challenging time of transition. It is our job to prepare our students for high school and we take that responsibility very seriously.
To help ensure a successful start, below are some supplies that are recommended for students to have at the beginning of the school year:
8th Grade Supply WISH List

· Pens – blue/black, red
· Pencils – SEVERAL PACKAGES!
· 5 Two-Pocket folders (One for each class)
· 5 One-Subject Spirals (One for each class)
· 3 Composition Books
· 2 ½” 3-ring binder with set of dividers ( 8th grade subjects)
· 1” binder with set of dividers (science)
· Ruler
· Protractor
· 3x5 Note cards
· Calculator (TI-30)
· Hand held pencil sharpener
· Scissors
· USB Drive
For Homeroom Use
· Glue sticks and glue
· Kleenex
· Hand sanitizer
· Dry erase markers
· Copy paper (1-2 reams)
· Storage Quart Baggies
· Colored pencils and markers
· 5 packages loose leaf paper
***Please check with your child on a quarterly basis to ensure they have all supplies necessary.
