TITLE: Intermediate Technical Support Analyst/Generalist

Job Description
CanDeal is looking for an exceptional intermediate level technical support analyst/generalist. As a member of the CanDeal support team, you will assist in supporting all aspects of the CanDeal infrastructure and ensure the highest level of service to all participants. You will also provide second line support for any technical issues escalated from the CanDeal Customer Service Desk.
Primary Duties
· Support in house desktop hardware
· Ensure desktop O/S, virus and applications are kept up to date
· Patch management of servers
· Support for Exchange Server
· Support Symantec Endpoint Protection SEP 12.1.5 or above
· Trouble shoot and resolve desktop or network related issues
· Create a standard secure desktop/server image (Linux – REHAL, CentOS, Debian, Windows)
· Provide second level support to help desk for client related connectivity/application issues
· Support for TIBCO
· Assist in testing new applications and releases surrounding trade system
· Support various database types – MySQL, MSSQL, etc.
· Support sftp/ftps services for incoming data files
· Support remote access capabilities for staff
· Support MS Office
· Assist in trouble shooting network issues with network support team
· Support for staff Blackberrys, Androids and iPhones – bring your own device (BYOD)
· Support numerous Bourne shell scripts
· Support VB scripts
· Support Cisco VPN
· Knowledge of VLANs and Cisco Switches
· Knowledge of VMWare Host and Guest setup and config
· Support VoIP services
· Configuring and installing new desktop and server systems
· Create/update operational documentation as required
· Must be available for after hours support typically through remote access
Qualifications
Required Skills
· Demonstrated experience with MS Windows XP/7, Windows Server 2003/2008 O/S
· Demonstrated experience with Linux – REHL, Debian and CentOS
· Demonstrated experience with MS Remote Access Server
· Demonstrated experience with Cisco VPN
· Proficient with MS Office 2010
· Demonstrated experience with MS Exchange Server 2003/2007/2010
· Demonstrated experience with networks and network equipment (switches/routers)
· Demonstrated experience in creating Bourne shell scripts
· Demonstrated experience in creating VB scripts
· Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
· Superb analytical skills: Ability to think “outside-the-box” to resolve problems
Desired Skills
· Experience administering production MySQL, MS SQL Server and Access
· Experience with TIB
· Knowledge of connectivity technologies such as T1 and Fiber
· Ability to create security policies for BYOD users
· Experience with fixed income trading systems
· Experience with DoubleTake
· Experience with Symantec Endpoint Protection version 12.1.5 or higher
· Experience with Crystal Reports

Education
· Post Secondary degree in IT related field
Experience
· 4+ years experience preferably in financial services
