Buffalo Battles Debate Tournament

Tooele High School is excited to invite you to compete in the 2008 Buffalo Battles Debate Tournament.
Date: Friday and Saturday November 21 and 22. Check-In at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Rounds Begin at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m on Saturday.

Registration: Please submit final registration by Tuesday November 19th at 3:00 p.m. Please email registration to or by fax at 435-833-1985 to the attention of Marni Davis. We will confirm registration via email as soon as possible.
Events: We will offer the following events on Friday: Policy Debate, Lincoln Douglas (Nov./Dec. Topic), Pubic Forum (Nov. Topic), Student Congress. On Saturday we will offer Oratory, Interps (we may collapse these events), Impromptu, Combined Extemp and SPAR. All events will have both Novice and Open divisions.
Double Entry: We will accept double entries in individual events only. Please make sure your students understand that judges will not hold rounds for students who are double entered. It is the student’s responsibility to check in with judges at the start of a round.
Cost: There is a $15.00 per school fee and a $3.50/ student and $7.00/team.
Judges: Please bring 1 judge for every 2 policy teams or portion thereof, 1 judge for every 3 Lincoln Douglas participants or portion thereof, 1 judge for every 3 Public Forum teams or portion thereof, 1 judge for every 5 competitors in individual events and Student Congress judges are greatly appreciated. Please feel free to bring your Varsity students, who are not competing, to judge Novice rounds.
Disclosure and Legislation: Since this is such an early novice tournament I would like to ask that novice policy teams disclose their affirmative cases at registration. Please also submit all Student Congress Legislation with registration. All schools that disclose and provide legislation will be forwarded that information prior to the tournament. Please send your students with copies of all disclosed legislation and bring extra copies of their personal legislation.
Awards: We will have awards for the top 3 finishers in each debate and individual event as well as Best Chair in Student Congress.
Food: Of course we will be feeding judges and coaches. We will also have concessions available throughout the day for participants.
