Tips for Fundraisers for Proudly Cincinnati 2012 Faculty/Staff Campaign

· Set personal goal on your fundraising page. The overall goal for the Faculty/Staff Campaign is participation and fundraisers at the college/unit or departmental level should encourage 100% participation! But, you can set a dollar goal as well! All gifts, no matter what size, do add up. Make sure you emphasize that it is not the size of the gift, but the gift itself that counts.

· Be specific in your message:

o Encourage donors to give to fund of their choice. If donors do not already have a preference, you can encourage gifts to the college or department priorities.

o Give tangible reasons to donate to UC through the Faculty/Staff Campaign

DIRECT IMPACT – your donations directly benefit the students, faculty and programs that make UC such a great place to work!

SUSTAINABILITY – funds raised in the Faculty/Staff Campaign counteract declining state resources.

DEDICATION – high rates of faculty and staff investment show donors we are dedicated to our mission and a culture of philanthropy.

GOALS - Your gift will help UC achieve the President’s Faculty/Staff Participation goal. If you are also a UC alumnus, your gift will help raise our alumni participation rate, which helps UC in national rankings.

CHOICE - You can choose the specific area of the University you wish to support! Click here for a complete list of UC gift funds.

· Follow-up with emails to your colleagues periodically during the campaign.

· Follow-up with personal ‘thank you’ emails to your colleagues who make a gift to the campaign.

· Rally the Troops – if possible, hold inexpensive fund-raising events within your organization to promote the campaign. Call the UC Foundation Office of Annual Giving at 556-6781 or email

if you need assistance or materials for your events. Keep events simple and fun.

· Challenge – consider a challenge or competition between departments, organizations and groups.

· Be creative, add photos or make a U-tube video.

· Ask for Help – contact the Office of Annual Giving at 556-6781 with questions, to get additional fund-raising tips and ideas, or for help with the uc.edu/impact website. We can also help you or your colleagues with questions about funds to which they can donate.

· You can also recruit team members to fundraise by setting up their own fundraising page and inviting their colleagues and friends to make a gift.
