v A meeting that concerns everyone in the Parish and surrounding hinterlands
Winter is once-again upon us and we need to take care of our Families, Neighbors’, Friends and our neighbourhood. Help one-another to guard against crime, loneliness and isolation. Winter in particular is a time when the Community Alert Scheme is most needed in Rural Areas such as Dromtariffe. We can’t fulfill that need without your help. We can organize meetings; we can have members of An Garda Síochána present to give specialized advice on Crime Prevention in your homes, farms, business, workshops, even in your workplace. We can have a Medical Doctor present to advice on the importance of keeping warm, proper warm food and general well-being to get you over the winter months. But there isn’t any use in having those meetings without you being there to convey the messages from the relevant advisers to those of us who can’t be there because of circumstances beyond our control. That is why your attendance is so important to us, the community alert group, to your family members who can’t attend, to your neighbors’ who are elderly and vulnerable. Don’t let it up to the next person to do something about it, you do it. There should be at least one person from every house in the Parish at this special meeting as we are all living next door to someone, living alone, feeling lonely on the long winter nights, feeling vulnerable and afraid and it’s not all about being old and vulnerable, the bottom line is we all need a friend. You can be that friend. This meeting is not about scaremongering it’s about sound practical advice, from members of An Garda Síochána and other relevant guest speakers
Please be there on Thursday night 5th November at 8.00pm in Dromtarriffe Parish Hall. It will start on time
