VISIT FROM MISSIONARY SISTER THIS WEEKEND: Bishop Ray Browne gives one missionary order permission to visit and promote their missionary activities once in each calendar year in our Diocese. This weekend it is our turn and so we welcome Sr. Patricia McMenamin of the OLA Congregation and she will speak at all masses and make a retiring collection.
MEDJUGORJE MONTHLY PRAYER MEETING will take place on this Monday, August 11th from 7.30pm. to 9.00pm. in the Parish Meeting room. All welcome.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: As our Adoration Chapel is being re-carpeted during the coming week – adoration will take place on Tuesday & Wednesday next (Aug. 12th & 13th ) in the main church from 11am. to 3pm. The Adoration Chapel will re-open the following week.
CHURCH CLEANERSNow that we have our church renovated we wish to up-date our Church Cleaners List. We invite anybody who might help a little in helping to keep our church clean to join our cleaning Rota. ANNUAL DIOCESAN COLLECTION FOR PASTORAL & RETREAT CENTRES will be taken up at all Masses next weekend, 16th & 17th August. The collections will take place here in Listowel immediately after Holy Communion. The John Paul II Pastoral Centre in Killarney acts as a focal point for the catechetical and faith education programmes of the Diocese while the Ardfert Retreat Centre provides the opportunity to take time apart and reflect on God’s call to all the people of our Diocese in a peaceful and prayerful environment. Thanks for your generosity.
ROSARY: The Rosary will be recited at the Grotto in O’Connell’s Avenue, at 6.00pm, on Friday, 15th August, to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
THE ANNUAL YOUTH CONFERENCE (organised by the Legion of Mary) will be held on the 30th/31st August in All Hallows College, Dublin. It is open to all young people between the ages of 18-40. It will have a panel of speakers headed by the Papal Nuncio. The Diocesan council of the Legion of Mary wish to sponsor two young people to attend.
