Position Title: Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Engineer
Job function:
- The HVAC Engineer is responsible for broad technical oversight of the contractor's HVAC engineering effort.
- The HVAC Engineer gains alignment with the Mechanical/Facilities Lead on HVAC engineering needs, objectives, and requirements for developing the Detailed Design deliverables.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Provide overall HVAC engineering leadership and expertise
- Gain alignment with the Facilities Lead on HVAC engineering needs, objectives, and requirements
- Conduct project team member briefing sessions with respect to HVAC engineering requirements and processes
- Provide the HVAC engineering data (narrative, charts, graphs, etc.) required for the monthly progress report
- SupportHVAC design alternative studies, as required, to optimize project cost and schedule
- Act as single point liaison on design basis for HVAC component(s) with contractor
- Participate as appropriate in design/operability/constructability reviews, risk assessments (e.g.,HAZOP)
- Capture and communicate HVAC engineering and design lessons learned for the project
- Advise the contractor's engineering and design organization with respect to:
Contractor's HVAC engineering and design procedures, processes, and deliverables
Contractor's HVAC staffing, including staffing plans, and personnel suitability and adequacy
- Steward the contractor's activities with respect to HVAC engineering execution including:
Ensuring that all affected parties are familiar with execution plans, procedures, objectives, and job requirements as they relate to HVAC
Ensuring that the contractor staffs the project with adequate numbers of qualified personnel
Ensuring that the contractor employs the appropriate design tools, including computer hardware and software
Ensuring that the contractor adheres to all appropriate specifications and standards
Ensuring that the contractor provides all contract documents, including those referred to in the job spec
Ensure interfaces associated with facilities project component(s) are working
Required KNOWLEDGE, qualifications, skills, and experiences:
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC:
Design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
Offshore facilities design, construction, and operations
- Bachelors Degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical
- 10+ years experience in crude oil and gas producing facilities design and operations.
- Experience in coordinating engineering contractor and change management desired.
- Good communicator and able to interface with others outside the Facilities Group to help determine whether or not design objectives/deliverables are being met
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs
