CLASS TITLE:PERSONNEL TECHNICIAN III - SES

This is independent professional work performing a variety of assignments in a program of personnel administration.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

- Participates in periodic salary surveys to determine the prevailing competitive salary structure and prepares recommendations.
- Prepares documentation to justify exceptions to the budget by job analysis, organizational level and relationships between proposed salaries and salaries of comparable positions.
- Directs the development and maintenance of recruitment programs to ensure adequate sources of qualified prospective job applicants.
- Directs and participates in the recruitment, screening, selection and evaluation of candidates for high level management positions.
- Conducts position audits and prepares and documents classification actions.
- Processes grievances and assists in the administration of collective bargaining contracts.
- Develops in-service training programs in accordance with department requirements.
- Develops and administers a comprehensive orientation program.
- Processes and maintains records of all employees including attendance, sick leave, annual leave, job ratings, promotions, transfer, salary changes and discharge.
- Counsels employees in matters of retirement benefits, grievances, discipline and other personal and work problems.
- Develops and administers procedures for placing personnel policies into effect.
- Represents the agency in carrying out rules and regulations relating to employment, attendance, leave, salary changes, terminations and other personal and work problems.
- Coordinates and directs the work of other employees.
- Performs related work as required.
