The Community
Deptford is a predominantly residential suburb in Gloucester County, New Jersey, 15 minutes from Philadelphia. Currently the population exceeds 30,000.
The township is bordered on the west and east by Routes 45 and 41 and on the north by Interstate Route 295. The New Jersey Turnpike and North-South Freeway cut through the northern half. Route 47 (Delsea Drive) runs east and west through the center of Deptford.
The School
Established in 1957, DeptfordTownshipHigh School is a comprehensive senior high school of approximately 1,250 students in grades 9-12. It is approved by the New Jersey Department of Education.

College Preparatory Courses
Students who wish to pursue post high school studies are encouraged to enroll in College Preparatory Courses. The purpose of these courses is to prepare students for the rigors and demands of college study.
Advance Courses
Advance courses are offered in Art, English, Foreign Language, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science to any student meeting the established criteria.

The final grades in all subjects are used in determining the grade point average. A weighted system is used. Advance courses are English, History, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, College Accounting and Foreign Language III and IV (French and Spanish). Advanced Placement courses are awarded a 1.15 weight assessment. Advanced/Honors courses are awarded a 1.05 weight assessment. Academy, Modeling, and College Courses at RCGC are awarded 1.10 weight assessment. Rank is computed following each semester.

Each school day is divided into three parts, the AM wheel, the Spartan Block, and the PM wheel. The AM and PM wheel rotate 4 periods amongst themselves. Three out of the four periods meet/day in 53 minute time intervals. The Spartan block is broken into two 28 minute segments.
