Island Archers JOAD Club Cost - $100/month
+$45 one-time introduction fee (a private lesson at which you will get an overview of what we teach).
Please note that Island Archers JOAD Club participation is subject coach approval. Previous participation in one of our Basic Archery Classes is usually required. If you have any questions about Island Archer JOAD registration please contact us at:
Days and times: We meet every Thursday and on the second Saturday of the month. You will be assigned to a group meeting time, either 4:00-4:45, 5:00- 5:45, 6:00-6:45, 7:00-7:45. Please contact us for availability.
Please indicate the archer’s age division below.
☐Bowman – up to age 12 in this calendar year.
☐Cub – up to age 14 in this calendar year.
☐Cadet – up to age 17 in this calendar year.
☐Junior – up to age 20 in this calendar year.

What’s Included:
Equipment - Island Archers JOAD participants will have access to club equipment but at some pointJOAD archers are encouraged to consider investinghigh quality equipment of their own when it is appropriate.
Awards - All archers will be eligible to earn awards for achievement in the programs. Awards are included in the class fees.
Training aids – various training tools will be used, these are included in the class fees.
Range Access –Island Arches JOADclub members will have the added benefit of free access to the Sportsmen’s club archery range during open shooting times.

Who:All aspiringarchers age 8-18 (up to age 20 for JOAD).This is a shootingsport, andall students, regardlessofage, must, in theopinion ofthe instructionstaff, beableto safelyand comfortablyhandle the equipment.
What:Wewill be teachingarchery based on the USA Archery/Team USA, National Training System (NTS). Safetyand archeryrange ruleswill be themost importantthingthat we cover butmost of our timewill be spentlearningabout archeryequipment and proper shootingformdevelopment.
Island Archers JOAD participants will be working on advanced skills to achieve their individual goals.
Thecourseis taughtbyCoachMike Hanson; a USA Archerycertified archeryinstructor and the material that wecoverwill serve as the foundation for alifetime of archery.

What toWear: Even though weshoot from asheltered areaour range isessentiallyan outdoor range so dressaccordingly. Wewill have classregardlessof the weatherconditions.Itcan getchillyout thereon the range.
Participants should wearclothesappropriate for theseason. Non-bulky, snug-fittingsleeves are preferred but please dress for the weather.Clothes must be free of large buttons,pins, badges,scarvesorotherthingson the front that canbe caught in thebow string.Please bringsomethingto tie back longhair.Therangeis fairlylevelbut it is dirt so it is sometimesmuddy;pleasewearfootwearthatencloses the whole foot. Do not wear sandals,flip-flops,barefeet or "footglove"typesocks.
