2011 Ice Dance Development Camp

ANNOUNCEMENT

Ice Skating Australia is proud to announce the 2011 Dance Development Camp. This Development Camp is the second in a series of annual camps designed to encourage skaters to consider the Figure Skating discipline of Ice Dancing.

The aim of this Camp is to bring together those skaters who are interested in trying ice dance, regardless of their level of experience as an ice dancer. Skaters who attend the camp will develop their skating skills and quality of edges with numerous partners under instruction from experienced coaches and our Senior Ice Dance National Champions Danielle O’Brien and Gregory Merriman. Single skaters who are interested in developing their skating skills or ice dance skills should consider this an ideal opportunity to explore the ice dance discipline.

Pavel Aubrecht:Gold and Silver Czech national medallist in ice dance. Czech National Team member from 1989-1993. Professional skater and coach. Professional partner on Torvill and Dean's “Dancing on Ice”(Australia and UK).

Linda Aubrecht:Dual Gold Dance tests. Professional ShowPerformer. Professional partner on Torvill and Dean's “Dancing on Ice”(Australia). Choreographer of dance and iceskating and Skating Coach.

Danielle O’Brien:Four time world representative and National Senior Ice Dance Champion

Gregory Merriman:Four time world representative and National Senior Ice Dance Champion

Luda Kroiter:Ballroom Dancer. Five Times World Salsa Champion. International Performer & Instructor. Professional Partner, Instructor and Choreographer on “Dancing With the Stars” (Australia) and “So You Think You can Dance”

Attendees

  • Current ice dancers or single skaters who are interested in ice dance.

Note:You don’t need a partner to attend the camp.

  • Skaters must have passed as a minimum,their Preliminary test and will be grouped according to their skill and experience levels.

Cost

The cost per skater to attend the camp is $330.00, which includes the full two day program – on-ice and off-ice with specialisedcoaching. Lunch is also provided on both days.

Travel & Accommodation

Skaters attending this Camp are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs.

Coaches

All coaches are invited and welcome to attend. Coaches may attend with or without skaters to observe the camp.

  • Camp fee is non-refundable
  • Accommodation, transport and meals will be the responsibility of the participants. Billet accommodation and transportation assistance may be able to be arranged. Please contact the ISA Office you would like assistance.
