POSITION AVAILABLEfor self-motivated, resourceful person to help managephoto/nonprofit.
No Water No Life (aka NWNL) documents river basins toraise awareness offreshwater issues.
THE NWNL ENVIRONMENTUESofficefocusing on N. American & African watersheds. Projectsusually creative, often with short deadlines & several ongoing simultaneously.Director travels often.
QUALITIES NEEDED (including fluency in English):
Detail-orientedattention withgood organizational and business management skills;
also anability to maintainreliable work flow with a collaborative, positive spirit
Digital photography archiving: retouching, import/export of images,color correction
Apple Computers Proficiency: troubleshooting tech issues and maintaining backupsystems
Fine-art color printing: custom-color profiles, image output; flatbedscanning
Graphic design/experience in print /online/videopublishing via InDesign,PhotoShop, etc.
Interest in the environment and belief in the power of photography to educate
RESPONSIBILITIES (in order of priority)
Photo Archive:import / export / keyword photo imagery,using existing hierarchy
Digital Photo Submissions:create viewing platforms;prepare images, invoice & track submissions
ManageVideo Archive: prepareexisting interview files for transcribers; find and track transcribers
Maintain computer equipment /software: troubleshoot, fix if necessary, updatebackup
Set upE-newsletters (quarterly) using establishedtemplates
Fundraising Follow-up: track donations, work with NWNL fiscal sponsor andthank donors
Bookkeeping: digital entries for AMJ Photo biz and NWNL biz
Post social medianewsfor NWNL: FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, Google + andInstagram
Communications: Keep up with emails, mail and phone calls
Office Assistance: Stockofficesupplies,minimal mail/filing,errands (post office, UPS, etc.)
COMPENSATION:Minimum starting fee is $15 /hour.
More$$ for more experience / 1-year contract required.
Hours: 24 hrs/wk, 12-5pmMon-Fri preferred, but flexible.
At start, more hrs/wk would help withfamiliarization
of NWNL & needed training from outgoing manager
