Donate time to local church, Gloria Dei, Episcopal, distributing food to the poor, (ongoing). Assisted the city of Satellite Beach Police Department, when asked to aid them in reconstructing database schemas, which they had lost some how, thus giving them the ability of accessing 6 years of historical data; assisted several individuals in restoring PC systems and/or upgrading their systems, up to completely reconstructing a lighting damaged system. Created and personally maintain a web page see my URL. You will find few with as diverse and yet as integrated a background of technical skills and experience. I continue to seek employment. Continue to work with VA assistance in employment searching. I’ve learned how to maintain on a significantly reduced budget, military retirement not withstanding. Have acquired numerous domestic skills now regularly cook and maintain my home to assist my spouse who continues to work. Continue to support one son in college. Maxim Group Consultant. Performed contract work for Nortel Networks, RTP Technical Data Interchange and PRISM (Pricing Requirement Information System for Marketing) - Developed & Supported, performed program analysis and troubleshooting, reverse engineering, flowcharting & documenting of system programs. UNIX c shell, k shell, awk, sed, Tcl, Expect & perl scripts, sql, sqlplus, plsql, oracle, C, Jam and CLIPS, interfacing to Oracle db on various systems HP-UX 10.20, Apollo bsd 4.3. Task analysis and support of Ordering & engineering interface to cable manufacturers, supported other TDI UNIX programming requirements, contract with projected duration of six months do to the loss for six months of the primary TDI administrator, required to be up and conversant with and independently administrating systems within one week, original projected ending date of this contract 12/31/2000. Contact extended too 07/30/2001 closing date. Asked to write Oracle 8 stored procedures and triggers, supporting Nortel System House in completing short 6 day requirement, assisted and completed all requirements on time working 81.5 hours during the six day project.

Technical Data Interchange (TDI) and Prism were run on HP-UX machines, TDI in particular required continuous monitoring and UNIX administration as this system preformed TCP/IP data transfer functions sending engineering specification to cable manufactures world wide. PRISM preformed artificial intelligence routines run in CLIPS language developed by NASA and interfaced to Oracle databases use by marketing. The AI routines insured all necessary components were present in a marketing order and applied discounting and pricing offsets. Fifty hour weeks were not uncommon while reverse engineering, administration and documenting systems which had not been done adequately prior to this. Operating systems usage were 90% HP-UX, 9% NT, and 1% BSD UNIX.

During this period assisted a Huntsville, Alabama based group planning a startup with design of lab support and data archiving network, incorporating Labview, and assisted in the laying out the requirements for their administrative and corporate net, to include identifying the security concerns they could expect.

I was during this period full time administrator of the Kennedy Telephonic Dial-in and out capability which was controlled and Sun Solaris Sparc-20 UNIX boxes which acted as authentication servers. Operating system usage during this period was 50% NT, and 50% UNIX in nature KANE system Scanner was the initial scanner used for all UNIX based systems which was replaced by ISS Internet and System Scanner.
