Procedures /
  • TSW review the rubric for this project.
  • TSW read their current novels and use graphic organizers to write an objective summary of the plot, characters, setting, figurative language, and evaluations.
  • TSW select pictures to reflect a visual of what they read...they may take pictures or research pictures from the internet..
  • Optional: Students may find a clip of music or sound that reflects the tone or mood of their novel, which can be inserted at the end of their summary. (THIS MAY HAVE TO BE DONE ON THE PC VERSION OF PREZI).
  • TSW share their prezis with each other in small group. TSW email their teacher, so she can play the “mini” presentations to other classes who need to find a new novel in the independent reading center.

How to use the app
(directions for app use) / ·  Start a “New Prezi” (click on the app) (slideshow)
·  Click the wrench and select a template
·  Add a title
·  Format your “prezi” by selecting the types of slides you would like – pictures/text, pictures, or text.
·  Click the image icon to add picture (IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A PHOTO IN YOUR CAMERA ROLL, YOU CAN TAKE A PHOTO OR GO TO SAFARI AND SAVE PHOTOS IN YOUR CAMERA ROLL.)
·  If you want to type text, tap the section and type your content.
·  Click Present to show/present your Prezi—zoom in/out
·  HELPFUL HINTS: (SEE TUTORIAL)
·  Click “undo” if you make a mistake.
·  Click the “home” if you want to see all of your slides.
·  If you want to arrange the slides in a different order, hold the slide down and move to the desired location.
·  ***Prezi will ask to access your photos; you must allow to complete the activity.***
