CALL TO ORDER:
The December 12, 2016, Regular Meeting of the Nevis City Council was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Mayor Chris Norton.
Present: Council Members: Rich Johnson, Kelly Poole, Jarod Senger, Hubbard County Deputy: Josh Oswald, Clerk/Treasurer: Dawn Veit, Liquor Store Manager: Kiley Weaver, Fire Chief: Jermey Clemen.
Absent: Council Member: Jeanne Thompson, Public Works Supervisor: Don Umthun.
Motion: Jarod Senger, Second: Kelly Poole, All-Yes, Passed to approve the Regular Agenda for the December 12, 2016, City Council Meeting.

1. Transfer the December 31, 2016, Nevis Liquor Store budgeted amount of $35,000.00 to the general fund.
2. Transfer remaining year-end Nevis Liquor Store balance to PB Reserve Savings

3, Fire fund to general fund for 2016 Administrative costs $6502.00.
4. Water fund to general fund for 2016 Administrative costs $7,000.00.
5. Sewer OM&R funds to general fund for 2016 Administrative costs $7,000.00.
6. Liquor Store funds to general fund for 2016 Administrative costs $3,600.00.
7. Street, Water & Sanitation fund to Fire Fund for portion of MN Power 2016-
$2,348.76 (Street $782.92, Water $782.92, San $782.92).
8. Transfer Sewer Debt Retirement Total Acct. year-end balance to Sewer Debt Retirement Money Market Acct#25-14248.
DEPARTMENT OF COMMISSIONERS’ REPORT
PLANNING COMMISSION-
Motion: Chris Norton, Second: Kelly Poole, All-Yes, to approve City of Nevis Minnesota Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance No.40. Adding Ordinance Opting-Out Of The Requirements Of Minnesota Statutes, Section 462.3593.

LIQUOR STORE –
Liquor Store Manager Kiley Weaver reported they had a busy promotional month: Dart Tournament, Christmas Party, New Year’s Eve Party.
We received a new Cooler from Pepsi, makes for carrying a larger selection.
FIRE DEPARTMENT -
Fire Chief Jeremy Clemens reports on the 1st of the year, he will have numbers for the IPADS and monthly costs.
Motion: Kelly Poole, Second: Rich Johnson, All-Yes, passed to approve the Annual Payments for: Fire Chief bi-annual payment of $1,575.00, Assistant Fire Chiefs of $250.00 each, and Training Officer $250.00.
POLICE DEPARTMENT –
Hubbard County Deputy Josh Oswald gave his law enforcement report for the month of November, 2016.
ADMINISTRATION –
Motion: Chris Norton, Second: Kelly Poole, All-Yes, to approve transfer of funds in the amount of $12,845.00 from PB Reserve Savings No. 911614050 to the Liquor Store Fund for the new roof.
Motion: Rich Johnson, Second: Kelly Poole, All-Yes to approve Resolution No. 2016-17 Adopting General Fund Budget for the Year 2017.
Motion: Rich Johnson, Second: Jarod Senger, All-Yes, to approve Resolution No. 2016-18 Adopting Property Tax Levy for Tax Year Payable 2017 in the total amount of $220.239.30 (Gen. Gov’t $85,850.00, Streets $52,348.00, Police $48,160.00, Parks $23,033.00, Fire $10,848.30).
Motion: Rich Johnson, Second: Jarod Senger, All-Yes, to approve changing the 2016 beginning balance of the general fund account, adding back in $105.91.
NEW BUSINESS:
Council discussed the letter from the Lake Belle Taine Association in regards to a donation. The City Council has already set an amount of $400.00 for the donation. This amount was budgeted for the upcoming 2017 City of Nevis Budget.
