This award recognizes the chapter or individual which has had a significant impact on a community and highlights the value of human resources in one of the core areas below. The nominated chapter or individual willserve to set the standard other chapters follow and apply their expertise to enhance chapter effectiveness in executing SHRM’s mission to serve and advance the profession.

Eligibility

All Georgia chapters meeting the following criteria:

  • SHAPE-ready
  • Have at least one volunteer project that demonstrates innovation in a Core Area that advances SHRM’s mission toserve and advance the profession

Any chapter member meeting the following criteria:

  • Must be a Member in a local SHRM chapter and a national SHRM member in good standing.

Nomination Process

  • Nominations may come from any member in good standing in both a local chapter and a national SHRM member.
  • Entries must be received by the Recognition Program Director by August 15, 2017.
  • A chapter or individual may be nominated for an award in more than one Core Area, but may only be selected in one
  • Submit the Community Impact Nomination Form (found below) accompanied by a narrative—no more than two pages in length—and any relevant supporting documentation (see Selection Criteria for information to include in narrative on nomination form)
  • Incomplete entries will be disqualified

Selection Criteria

The Selection Committee will evaluate the narratives and supporting documentation, taking the following into account:

  • The chapter or individual’s activity relating to one or more of the Core Areas
  • The community impact/results achieved through the project
  • How the chapter or individual helped advance SHRM’s mission toserve and advance the profession

It is strongly recommended that your narrative clearly address all of the above criteria. Consider structuring your narrative as follows:

  • Purpose of project or activity
  • Specific goals/objectives
  • Process
  • Deliverables
  • Results
  • Why the project represents the “Community Impact”

Selection Process
All nominations will be evaluated and winners selected by a group of SHRM peers.

  2. Attach a narrative—no more than two (2) pages in length—that addresses the selection criteria described earlier
  3. Attach any relevant supporting documentation
