Information for Golfers

Event Name: The 5th Joint Professional Golf Tournament 2009

Date: 11 March 2009 (Wednesday)

Venue: East and South Course

The Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course, Sai Kung

Tee-off time: 2-Tee start, from 12:00 noon (South Course) – to be confirmed

1-Tee start, from 11:45 noon (East Course) – to be confirmed

Format: Individual Stableford off handicap (as declared and shown on your scorecard).

Handicap: Maximum handicap of 24 will be allowed.

Tees: White tees for Men. Red tees for Ladies. (Both East & South Course)

Scores: The best 18 scores from each profession will be used. The top 3 scores will be discarded and the final total score will be the sum of the subsequent 15 scores.

Prizes: 1. Perpetual trophy to the Champion Team (best total score) (to be kept for one year).

2. 22 medals to the Champion Team Members.

3. Medals to the 1st and 2nd runner-up team members.

4.  Trophies for players with the Best Gross Score in East Course from each team.

5.  Trophies for players with the Best Gross Score in South Course from each team.

6.  Trophies for players with the Highest Stableford Point from each team.

7. South Course - Trophies for winners of Nearest to Pin (Holes 2, 5, 11 and 16) and Longest Drive (Hole 3 & 14) competitions. Each competitor is only allowed to win one prize for Nearest to Pin and one for Longest Drive.

8. East Course - Trophies for winners of Nearest to Pin (Holes no. – to be confirmed) and Longest Drive (Holes no. – to be confirmed) competitions. Each competitor is only allowed to win one prize for Nearest to Pin and one for Longest Drive.

9. Novelty prizes and lucky draws will be available and presented during the dinner. Only those players who stay behind for the dinner and prize presentation will be eligible.

Special

Tournament Rules: 1. All Drop Zones are in play. Players’ tee shots which are lost or out of bounds shall proceed to use the Drop Zones.

2.  At any hole, players are encouraged to pick up if they are not getting any Stableford points for that hole, i.e. maximum 3 over par. Players may put “X” or 4 over par (7 for Par 3, 8 for Par 4 and 9 for Par 5) as their score for that hole.

3.  At any hole, putts shall be given if they are within the metal part of a normal length putter (about 35 inches) and the player shall add one stroke as his or her score for that hole.

Disputes: All questions and disputes shall be referred to the Joint Organizing Committee whose decision will be final. The Joint Organizing Committee consists of representatives from each participating professional body.

Miscellaneous: There will be a designated captain for each flight. The captain will ensure that the speed of play is brisk and that the scores are marked properly on the scorecards. He/She will also collect the scorecards after the end of play and return them to the Registration desk (before heading to the showers).

Each player is required to mark his or her gross score on his or her card. Please do not mark other player’s. If you cannot finish the hole, put a X on the card. The Captain of each team will decide if there is a disagreement. Golf carts for East Course and South Course are included in the green fees. No caddies are allowed in both courses.

Drinks will be available and served at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner/presentation to take place at around 6.15 p.m.
