2017 WARWICK PENTATH RUN

Thousands of Australians are diagnosed with blood cancer each year. Hundreds will lose their lives. It’s why our researchers are working tirelessly to find out more about why it strikes and how to stop it. We’re also there to support those who have been diagnosed already.

We provide somewhere to stay for patients undergoing months of gruelling chemotherapy, sometimes hundreds of miles from their home, as well as information, support and advice at a time when it’s needed the most.

The Warwick Pentath Run is a not for profit event that donates funds raised to various charities including the Leukaemia Foundation but we need your help!

Warwick Indoor Recreation and Aquatic Centre (WIRAC), one of the event sponsors will provide a complementary One Month Gold Membership (value $120) to each volunteer. *Some terms and conditions apply (see below)

Shifts & course locations:

Volunteers can assist with as many of the below shifts as you would like. Out of town volunteers are welcome to stay at Warwick Christian College (dorm style accommodation) for $5 for the weekend. Please contact Karen Gilchrist on 0410 810 273 for bookings.

Location: WIRAC, Palmerin Street, Warwick

Date: Saturday 20 May 2017

Shifts: 6am to 9.30am

11am to 1.00pm

2.00pm to 4.00pm

Locations: vary between Warwick, Killarney, Allora and Yangan

Date: Sunday 21 May 2017

Shifts: 6.15am to 9.30am

10.30am to 12.00pm

Locations: vary between Warwick, Killarney, Allora and Yangan

Volunteer activity: Event marshals (directing participants) – 30 positions to fill! Teams and groups of volunteers are welcome. This is a great opportunity to be involved in a local event running that’s now its 15 year. The event attracts 100’s of participants from across the National. It’s a fun way to meet new people and you’re helping the Foundation receive beneficiary dollars to help patients.

Attire: You must wear closed in shoes and comfortable clothing is recommended. Please bring a jacket as the mornings can be cold. A hi-vis vest will be provided for safety reasons.

Meal details: Free breakfast at a local café in Yangdan on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Getting here: Own transport is required

Booking procedure: Please email Emma Quade your preferred volunteering date(s) and the number of people volunteering by 29 March 2017. You will then be emailed a volunteer application form and volunteer agreement that each volunteer will need to complete (if they haven’t previously registered with us) and return to Emma Quade to confirm the booking.

*t&c’s of One Month Membership from WIRAC: available to Pentath volunteers only however if the volunteer is a current member of WIRAC, the volunteer may transfer the membership to a friend.
