Made in Roath Open Exhibition 2013
We warmly invite you to submit work for the “Made in Roath Open Exhibition” at The Gate Gallery 17th October-15ndNovember 2013.
The Gallery space at The Gate has room for up to 100 pieces of work with the largest possible size being 32 inches square. We accept up to four pieces per artist, though if we reach over 100 pieces the number of artworks per artist must be reduced. If you do wish to submit any artwork please read the Exhibiting Policy and complete an Entry Form (please email to request a copy of the policy)
All artwork submitted must adhere to The Gate Gallery Exhibiting Policy – we reserve the right to not display artwork if it is considered to be offensive, violent or has any sharp edges.
As The Gate is a registered Charity, and Made in Roath is an extremely worthy cause, all those entering a piece of work for the exhibition are asked to contribute £10 per entry, concessions are £7.50 for students and over 60’s (student card/ID will be required).This will go towards the costs of professionally hanging and running the exhibition, any and all surplus will be donated to Made in Roath!
Work for this exhibition is not requiredto be for sale, however, if it is The Gate takes a 30% commission fee on pieces sold (please factor in when pricing your work)
Here are the key dates should you wish to enter a piece of work for selection;
- Monday 7th – Thursday 10thOctober: Deliver your work to The Gate. It MUST be mirror plated and have the tear off strip from the application form firmly taped to the back. You must also bring in an application form and your entry fee of £10/£7.50 concessions (cheques payable to The Gate).
- Monday 14th – Wednesday 16thOctober: The Gate Gallery team will meet to ensure pieces adhere to the Exhibiting Policy and select work to be exhibited if there is over-submission. The Exhibition will then be hung by a professional team.
- Thursday 17thOctober, 6-8pm:The Made in Roath exhibition will officially be opened. Please feel free to use the opportunity to invite friends, family and colleagues to come on this evening to look at the work and enjoy a drink and even see some of the other performances in the festival.
- Friday 15thNovember: Last day of the exhibition, the work will be taken down and stored.
- Monday 18thNovember: Please collect your work. Work will only be held for a maximum of 1 week.Late collection of artworks will lead to extra charges of £2.50 per calendar day. We reserve the right to dispose of the artwork 2 weeks after the end of the exhibition for insurance reasons.If you are unable to collect the work yourself you will need to name who will on the application form for security reasons.
