COMMUNICATION SECTION
Sydney Meadows, Maggie Osburn, Graclyn Brandon, Denna Olauson, Nichole Brammann, John Oswald, Joslin Ungles, Will Young, Chandler Gordon, Rowen Derr, Tony Osburn, Keaton Zembles, Montana Horseman, Kendall Hux, and Audrey Gibson represent Middle School and Elementary Student Councils. High School was represented by President Kameron Freemyer, Vice President Kameron Freemyer and Secretary Kooper Young. Each Council representative described their activities and responsibilities.
Mrs. Nichole Hux and Mrs. Becky Reinigdiscussed their classrooms and extra-curricular activities.
Mr. Eaton discussed the Food Service program evaluation and reported Apple Bus provides transportation for the district and Manager Richard Corbin does an excellent job working with the school district.
CONSENT AGENDA
The board approved the minutes of the November 15th, 2017 meeting as well as the financial report.
NEW BUSINESS
The board accepted a resignation effective at the end of the 2018 contract yearfrom Mrs. Carolyn Hall.
ITEMS FOR INFORMATION
Mrs. Hall mentioned JH basketball wrapping up their seasons, Music Concerts and Art Shows this week. Student Councils will be delivering baskets this week as well. The inservices will be centered around English/Language Arts this winter and spring and that the new Science Middle School curriculum series is working very well.
Mr. Miles reportedthe FFA Fruit Sale orders are in, FCCLA and FBLA are working on contests, Student Council food baskets will be delivered and several items are going to the food pantry. Jeff Freeland with the Missouri Model District Project will be here to work with teachers the first week of January. Both varsity basketball teams won the Mound City Tournament, the FFA Trap Team has been very successful and the Scholar Bowl Team has been competing very well.
Mr. Eaton mentioned the possibility of NW Health Services putting a banner on the fence at the Sports Complex along Nebraska Street. The Mound City R-2 District will be a part of the Missouri Assessment Project. This project will hopefully lead to more meaningful testing for our students and teachers, with ultimately less assessments being required at the end of each school year.
