VisuHai ! Sai what’s going on ?
SaiWe are talking about you. Are you busy with Election in your school. In our school we don’t have any Elections for S.P.L. I don’t know about the Elections ? Can you explain me about this ? Even my parents are talking about some General Election in our country is it like your school Elections ?
VisuWe can say 90% same but some difference is there. Election gives us the right to vote to elect the correct person.
SaiWhat is that ?
TejuI know we use ballot paper’s in our school to vote. But our Election Commission uses EVM. i.e., (Electronic Voting Machine)
VisuThe two important basic elements of democracy are elections and political parties.These elections in our country are conducted by Election Commission of India which are held at regular intervals to elect our representatives.
SaiOh! That is called General Election.
TejuWho will elect these representatives.
VisuGood question. We the people who are above the age of 18 are given the right to vote which is also called Universal Adult Franchise to choose the representatives.
SaiAre the people whom we are electing are fair and free of corruption to rule us.
TejuAre they are fit to be our leaders ? Do they have all the qualities of able leadership.
VisuYes, these questions arise in every responsible Indian after a prolong discussion our countries highest court came out with a good option which benefits the common man.
SaiWhat is that ?
VisuSupreme Court ordered the Election Commission compulsory add one more option in the EVM for next General Election 2014 i.e., NOTA – None of the above.
TejuWhat is this NOTA.
VisuNOTA empowers the voters to express their opinion.
TejuOk. Ok. On 27th Sept. 2013 Supreme Court has given the voters right to reject if they don’t like candidates.
VisuYes, This is given for better governance in our country or to make government clear.
SaiHow can you maintain the privacy of voters.
VisuYes, you are correct the NOTA button gives the same beep sound like other. So, it gives the message that you voted.
TejuCan you give sufficient information about NOTA.
VisuSure, our country is the 14th country to implement negative voting. If you want to exercise your disapproval of all candidates. We have to go to polling station and press the last button of EVM. NOTA button will protect the voters privacy.
SaiIs it valid vote ?
VisuNOTA is counted as invalid vote ? NOTA will not effect the poll results.
SaiIf NOTA voters are more. What will happen ?
VisuSee, if NOTA voters are many. The political parties are compelled to think to give better candidates for elections.
