The Josephine Bowden Scholarship established in 1928 is to commemorate the personality of the beloved and honored charter member Josephine Bowden and first president of the Mankato Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW).

This scholarship is open to women students as undergraduates or graduate students at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Preference is given to those who demonstrate financial need in their application statement. Previous recipients are not eligible to re-apply.
