Litigation Support Specialist
Job Summary: The Litigation Support Specialist is responsible for assisting in providing a variety of litigation support technology-related activities and solutions within the [location] office.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of documents for imaging and coding into litigation databases.
- Assist in providing guidance to temporary resource personnel and others in imaging and coding of documents into litigation databases.
- Create and support litigation databases and coordinate the development of specialized databases.
- Design and create database forms and reports.
- Assist in performing and managing in-house e-discovery projects.
- Import/export of electronic data for [Summation].
- Prepare load files for electronic document productions.
- Assist in providing advice on best practices for case management and assist in developing recommendations and project cost estimates.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure adequate quality control measures to produce error-free work product.
- Docket time according to completed tasks.
- Assist users and provide support for all eDiscovery, imaging & document database related issues.
- Assist users by delivering targeted training and resource information, including providing support for the use of [Summation] by lawyers and paralegals.
- Participate in litigation support department initiatives, including continuing evaluation of best-fit eDiscovery, litigation support and trial presentation solutions, and firm-wide best practices for litigation support activities.
- Assist in preparing project plans and requests for proposals to vendors, and liaising with vendors.
- In co-ordination with lawyers, paralegals and clients assess client requirements and interpret lawyer instructions for creation of case databases.
Knowledge and Skills
- College diploma in a technology related field or related work experience.
- Minimum of two years related experience (preferably in a legal environment).
- Strong organizational, communication and decision making skills.
- Basic understanding of legal concepts and procedures.
- General knowledge of office and work procedures.
- Experience with relevant computer systems.
