Section B:Running Our Business
1.  Here is a summary of what we did to set up and run our business.
Ø  To set up the business our students took a survey of our school infrastructure and and then took a Market survey on primary students needs and demands for the Market day.
Ø  Our students did mouth to mouth publicity of their products and made pamphlets and banners to display their products in each class room.
Ø  Our students planned their business product and business strategies like fixing and buying raw material (Cheap and best quality product), fixing up the selling price by calculating the cost price and minimum profit etc...
Ø  They learned the recipes for the item to be presented and also learned to make DIY products, origami, toys , etc....
Ø  Our students set up and runned business and they understood the challenges and problems faced in the business.
Section C: Use of Profits
2.  Here is an explanation of how we decided what we plan to spend our profits on:
Students planned to use the entire profit for the welfare of the people and they decided to donate the entire profit to NGO.
Section D: Our Achievements, Challenges and Solutions

3.  These were the 3 biggest challenges we faced when planning/setting up/running our business and the solutions we came up with to overcome them:

a.  Challenge #1: Start- up Capital

Solution: To start up a business students arranged capital from their own savings( Piggy bank,etc...) and even Parents contributed money as a interest free loan to students. Some students sold their old watches, bags and bicycles and used the money to start up the business.

b.  Challenge #2: Time Management(Managing studies along with business)
Solution: Initially when students started business their studies were affected because they were so excited for starting the business that their concentration is diverded towards business. They neglected their studies but later on as per teachers guidance they decided that business activites should bediscussed on Saturdays and Sundays.( when we dont have school work) . They divided business work in groups as planning team, raw material purchasing team, selling team, accounts team, sales and promotion teams, etc. They started discussing business issues in long breaks.
c.  Challenge #3: Unestablished brand
Solution: Their were many products in our canteen which are well established. So initially on the Market days students kept selling price less as compared to the products in canteen so that we can attract our customers and increase the sales. Students also learned new recipes so that they can attract customers with the minimum cost and tasty food.
3.  These are the 3 most important things we learned:
1.  Team Management- Students learned that we can manage any work with the help of team work. Students can solve any problems of managing the team and working on it.
2.  Learn from the experience – Students learned from the first day sales that some products like sandwiches was not in demand while other products like chocolate delight and juices are in great demand. So they planned business strategies as per our experience in day today life in business.
3.  Confidence – Each student in our business gained a confidence in doing the activity honestly. Students now can face new customers daily with a confidence smile on their face .
Section E: Sustainability & Business Development
4.  Our business has a positive impact on the environment and our community because:
Students were using more of organic products which will have positive impact in our environment and community.
5.  Our school business has the potential to carry on running sustainably next year and have a positive impact on the local environment and our community. This is our three point action plan of how we will keep it running:
1.  Students are planning that after 3 consecutive months we will organise MARKET DAY.
2.  Students will plan Market days on open house and parents teachers meeting days so that we can face parents as customers and we can gain confidence in our plan.
3.  Students will re-organise our team and add new products and new members in our business team.
Students demonstrate a clear understanding of the concept of sustainability. The business has clearly the potential to carry on running sustainably next year and have a positive impact on the local environment and their community. Students clearly listed their ‘three point action plan’ of how they will keep the business running or the ‘three biggest lessons learned’ about why their business has not been successful as planned and have clearly mentioned what they have learned they should do differently next time.
OR
Our school business does not have the potential to carry on running next year because we cannot make a profit and/or our business is not socially/environmentally sustainable. These are the three biggest lessons we have learned aboutwhy our business has not been as successful as we planned AND what we have learned we should do differently next time:
1.
2.
3.
