The newestlow-floor Isuzu Novociti Life will becomea new solution partner for cities
Turkey’s commercial vehicle manufacturer Anadolu Isuzu staged the Turkey launch of its new low-floor midibus Novociti Life at the Busworld 2018 trade show in Izmir.
Developed by Turkish engineers at Anadolu Isuzu’s R&D center, the newIsuzu Novociti Life stands out for its dynamic look, rear-locatedengine, low floor platform, and highly technological features. Turkey’s midibus export champion Anadolu Isuzu is getting ready to have the new Novociti Lifemanufactured at the Anadolu Isuzu plant to be on the roads across the world.
Anadolu Isuzuhas become the most striking brand with its new launch Isuzu Novociti Life and also with its entire product range at the 7th Busworld trade show in Turkey.
Having made its first appearance at the Busworld show in Kortrijk, Belgium in 2017 and winning the Best Design Award at the Design Turkey Organization, Turkey’s most prestigious design event which is a part of Turquality, the Isuzu Novociti Life was officially launchedin Turkey at the Busworld trade show that took place in Izmir 19-21 April 2018. Providing a new solution for city municipalitieswith its low floor platform and highly detailed design elements, the new model midibus Novociti Life drew plenty of attention at the Busworld where sister models the Citiport, Novo-S, Novolux, Turkuaz, and Visigo were also showcased at the Anadolu Isuzu stand visited by hundreds of foreign and local guests.
The low-floor midibus Isuzu Novociti Life with the comfort of a coach
The new low-floor Isuzu Novociti Lifewas created in response to the changingrequirements in the market. Targeting smaller cities or regionswith narrow streets with its concept of a small-size bus instead of large and medium-size, the Novociti Life also supports the participation of the handicappedpassengers in social life by the help of its low floor platform. Developed by Turkish engineers at Anadolu Isuzu’s R&D center and manufactured at the Anadolu Isuzu plant in Turkey, the new Isuzu Novociti Life will also key driver of the company to reachits aggressive growth goals in export markets.
Speaking at the new Novociti Life’s press launch at the Busworld, Anadolu Isuzu CEO Tuğrul Arıkan said, “Anadolu Isuzu is Turkey’s most-selling brand in the midibus segment. We’ve also been export championof midibuses for 14 years. All of the buses and midibuses we manufacture in Turkey have been on the roads all over the Europe with high passenger and customer satisfaction. We’re confident that the new Isuzu Novociti Life with its low floor platform and operating cost advantages will also be greatly welcomed both in Turkey and in our international markets.I’d like to announce that we’ve already begun placing 80 Novociti Life’s at the disposal of Bingöl city as of April as a first step.”
Introducing a new segment in the bus product group between Anadolu Isuzu’s 9.5-meter-long Citibus and the 7.5-meter-longNovociti with its length of 8 meters, the Novociti Life stands out for its buslike appearance and comfort in midibus dimensions. The Novociti Life’s FPT brand NEF4 model engine,locatedin the rear supporting both low floor platform and enabling easier service, generates 680 nm of torque at 186 HP. FPT’s engine technology that meets Euro 6C emission requirements without the need for an exhaust gas recycling (EGR) system ensures high energy efficiency at low fuel consumption. The Novociti Life comes with ZF manual and Allison automatic gearbox options in Turkey and abroad alike.
Carrying up to 60 passengers with 6 more seats than the Novociti, the Novociti Life allows the passengers in wheelchairs to use the side windows with ease thanks to its special passenger window design that enables daylight to be used effectively inside the vehicle. Taking in the sights outside without strain, the wheelchair-using passengers can thus enjoy the benefits of the Novociti Life’s human-focused smart design.
Offering as much comfort to the driver as to the passengers, the Novociti Life allows drivers to customize their work environment according to their personal and operational needs. Locker or fan are the available options for the overhead space above the driver’s seat while the ergonomically designed dashboard enhances driving comfort and safety.
Ease of servicing and maintenance thanks to smart design
The new Isuzu Novociti Life has been meticulously designed to provide comfort to its passengers as well as to minimize the time needed for its servicing. Moving the engine compartment to the rear has supported the vehicle’s low-floor construction. While the rear-mounting of the engine and transmission facilitates their maintenance when required, the rear hood was designed to make servicing easier. The maintenance cowlings that allow access to the engine compartment from three sides also help simplify and shorten the maintenance work.
Increased seating capacity despite smaller dimensions
More compact than most of the buses in midibus segment, the Novociti Life offers greater seating capacity and a spacious interior compared to the Novociti which may be considered its predecessor. Witha modern style on the exterior, the Novociti Life makes getting in/off easier for handicapped passengers with its stepless low-floor construction. The air suspension systems in the front and rear make for the ridesmoother. With greater maneuverability thanks to its compact dimensions, the Novociti Life will make its Turkey debut in Bingöl where a massive shipment of 80 vehicles will enter into servicestarting byApril.
