Psalms 118:21-24
Introduction: 5 things I’ve learned while I have been journeying from Rejection to Ejection
1. He’s My God: I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. I was raised in the church but I’ve learned to see God as being more than just God of the church. If you only see Him as being God of the church you will only praise Him in the church and then go home to your house and worry. But know that the same God over this house is the same God over your house. Once you realize this you will lift Him up in your house. It’s vitally important that you see God as being God of your house, job, body, emotions, character, and mind. Once you get that revelation you’ll lift Him up in your house, on your job, with your body, emotions, character, and mind. Once I realized the revelation that God heard me and saved me I started praising Him as my personal savior.
a. In praising His name know that He heard you, and make sure you don’t worry about what He hasn’t done. We’ve become too busy chasing the American dream and the pursuit of happiness. Why pursue happiness when God gives joy. I don’t have to be happy to have joy and know that if God is for me then who can be against me. Ps. 35:9 And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
2. Rejection Leads To Elevation: The stone the builder refused….head stone of the corner. This stone is Jesus. They rejected Him because He didn’t look or act like the King. He was a king but His kingdom was not of this world. Then He started going against the grain, and they rejected Him. But His rejection lead to His elevation and we know now that He has become the head stone of the church. He told Peter upon this rock will I build my church…. He died so I might live. His Holy blood spilled to wash away my sins. He died on the cross; I was born at the cross. He rose again on the third day to show the haters, doubter, believers, angels, devils, heaven, and earth that He is and always has been the King of Glory.
a. This encourages me because I’ve been rejected. This shows me that delayed doesn’t mean denied. The same God that saved me is the same God that can raise me. The rejection was the Lords doing and it was marvelous in His eyes. Christ’s crucifixion was a set up for His revelation as King and Lord over all, even death, hell and the grave. His rejection lead to His persecution which lead to His crucifixion which lead to His resurrection which lead to His ascension which lead to His intercession. That helps me to realize that my rejection was a set up for my ejection. If I had never been rejected there would be no place for me to be ejected out from. The lower you go down is just a set up for God to sling shot you high. But instead of being shot out like an angry bird you will come out with both hands up, singing praises to God for what He has done.
3. This Is The Day That I Win: This is the day which the Lord hath made I will rejoice and be glad in it. God ejected me out of that place into a new day. I’m destined to win but I can’t fight today’s battle looking back at what happened yesterday. I can’t be so upset because of the rejection that I can’t grab hold to the victory I have in this new day. I’ve seen the light of a new day breaking; I haven’t obtained the victory yet but I’m rejoicing now because this is the day that I win. When I was a child I thought as a child, I spake as I child, but when I became a man I put away childish things. God did some things for you before because you were too weak to stand up.
a. But when I became a man I put away childish things. See I was wrestling with the will of God until I peeked over His shoulder and saw a new day coming but I was still the old man. Then I saw that what I was wrestling with was the answer to what I was going through. So I said I won’t let you go until you bless my soul.
4. A New Day Brings A New You: Stronger—Wiser—Tougher: you’re in a new day, that’s why the enemy is fighting you in such a flagrant way. He’s thrown so much at you by now that should have taken you out by now. He doesn’t realize that he’s just adding fuel to the fire. He hasn’t figured out how to put out your fire. The old you would’ve backslid and cursed them out but the new you is glorying in tribulation and rejoicing in persecution. The more he throws at you the stronger you get. He wouldn’t fight you this way if you weren’t a threat to his kingdom.
a. This is a new day and I’m a new me. I’m tougher, wiser, and stronger now. I won’t break or bend like I used to. Devil if you’re waiting for me to break and burst into tears you’re going to be waiting all of your life. I’ve come through the weeping stage (weeping may endure for a night…) I’ve cried my last tear last night. I’ve let fear go because I refuse to drag fear into this new day.
b. It’s time to get up, toughen up, and get your stuff back. Time out for pity parties among the saints. Time to stop sniffling, dry your tears, fix your face, and man up. Lift up your heads oh ye gates and be ye lifted up ye everlasting doors….When you’re going through your toughest times is the time when you should give God the highest praise. Praise Him until the devil gets nervous, pain leaves your body, get a new attitude, breakthrough comes your way. You have to find a way to give God the praise. Your problem isn’t really a problem, it’s just bread. Your enemies are not really enemies their an audience because He prepares a table before me…. God wants to feed you with what the devil threw at you to destroy you.
