ThunderBolts Idol Presented by Music Industry Workshop

Crestwood, IL - Every Thirsty Thursday Night game during the 2009 home season will be our “ThunderBolts Idol” competition. Each week contestants will perform for 60 seconds between a half-inning. They can sing a-cappella or with music. Contest is open to all ages. Ballots will be handed out at the gate as fans arrive at the game and will be collected by on-field staff and ushers after last performance of that evening. Ballots will then be collected and winner(s) announced when ballots have been counted. Tryouts will be held on Saturday May 2 from 10am-2pm at Standard Bank Stadium in the Skybox Suites. Below are the dates and a breakdown of the competition schedule.

May 21- 4 contestants from tryouts

May 28- 4 contestants from tryouts

June 18- 4 contestants from tryouts

July 2- 4 contestants from tryouts

July 9- Top 2 vote getters from May 21 and May 28

July 23- Top 2 vote getters from June 18 and July 2

Aug 6- Top 2 vote getters from July 2 and July 23

Aug 13- Top 3 vote getters from Aug 6

Aug 27- Top 2 vote getters from Aug 13 and ThunderBolts Idol winner announced

Music Industry Workshop is a recording and training program studio located downtown. They have agreed to partner with the ‘Bolts with this promotion and will be providing the following prizes: For the 2009 ThunderBolts Idol Winner, you will receive a $1200 studio demo package with 10 hours of recording and mixing time, 2 hours of mastering time and $1000 recording scholarship reward which is good for any skills training program at Music Industry. Music Industry Workshop will also give a $500 scholarship to all 16 contestants for skills training at Music Industry Workshop.

ThunderBolts Director of Community Relations, Tom Linehan states, “ThunderBolts Idol is built on the success of the television show. I have done this promotion with other teams I have worked for in the past. It was a great promotion and we expect the same success this year.”
