Age UK North Tyneside
Vacancies for Trustees
Age UK North Tyneside (AUKNT) is a locally based independent charity and company limited by guarantee whose mission is to improve the quality of life, opportunities and services for older people. We are one of 164 ‘brand partners’ working together through the national Age UK charity.
AUKNT has an ambitious five year strategy to 2020 to grow and develop the services we offer. As well as our main charity, we have a wholly owned social enterprise subsidiary company Life Choices Plus Limited trading as EveryDay which operates our CQC regulated Care at Home Services and a tripartite Age UK financial products and services company. Both donate net profits back to the charity for the benefit of older people.
We wish to maintain a diverse, dynamic Trustee Board with experience and skills in health and social care, housing, business development skills, customer service, financial, legal, public and charitable services. We aim to strengthen the current Board with up to threefurther Trustees to take our Board strength up to 12. We want to maintain and enhance Board diversity and look to recruit from the widest possible experience and skill base.
Our turnover is circa £5M per annum. We employ 250+ staff and a similar number of volunteers delivering a wide range of health, care and support contracts, advice and information services, social leisure and learning activities across the borough.
