TechTalk #6 Balfour Website Calendar Feature
Please add events to the calendar in the top right hand corner of the home page. Tracy will add the dates from the school calendar and the athletic schedule (games only) but you will need to enter events other than these. If you have problems see Chris or email them to her.
- Log in to the Balfour website.
- From the horizontal grey tabs at the top choose “Create Content” and drop down to “Event”.
- A new editing window opens. If this is an all day event, check the box. If it is not all day, leave the box unchecked.
- In the title area, type the name of the event.
- In the body you may add details if you would like or leave it blank. You may add an image here following the usual procedure (button with tree on it).
- In the body, please type “Posted by ”. For example, Posted by .
- Scroll down to the box that says “Event has time”. Check this box if you did not check “all day” above and set the start date and time of the event. (Note: default is always, today’s date)
- If the event has an end time, check the box and set the end time. If it doesn’t have an end time, do nothing. (Note: you can set another date here and the event will be marked on successive days on the calendar – for example, two days holiday in a row)
- Click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.
- Check your entry by returning to the home page and clicking on the date on the calendar for which you entered an event.
- If you need to edit what you did, click on the date in the calendar to open it up. Click on the event (in dark italics) and the edit screen will be offered to you. Make any changes or additions you would like and re-submit the event.
Note: Coaches and staff supervisors: If you would like a schedule of your practices uploaded as a document to the website that is suggested rather than crowding the main calendar. Email Chris if you would like to do this.
