PAPER RECOVERY ALLIANCE and PLASTICS RECOVERY GROUP:
MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
The Paper Recovery Alliance (PRA) and Plastics Recovery Group (PRG) are seeking organizations that are interested in working collaboratively on a broad industry approach to creating solutions for the recovery and processing of used foodservice packaging.
Member Eligibility and Benefits
Companies with operations in the U.S. and/or Canada are eligible if they fall into one of the following categories: raw material suppliers, converters, operators/retailers, collection service providers, material recovery facilities, processors and recovered feedstock end users.
Companies interested in joining the PRA and/or PRG must be members of the Foodservice Packaging Institute (FPI) prior to applying for PRA and/or PRG membership. For more information on FPI membership, please contact FPI President Lynn M. Dyer at (703) 538-3551 or .
The main benefit to joining the PRA and/or PRG is the opportunity to be actively involved in the development of voluntary, industry-led solutions for the recovery and processing of used foodservice packaging in the U.S. and Canada. In addition, PRA and PRG members have the potential opportunity to:
- Gain access to valuable research related to foodservice packaging, including generation and discard data and the recovery infrastructure for foodservice packaging;
- Supplement your company’s own recovery initiatives and contribute to its sustainability goals;
- Increase consumer satisfaction and experience;
- Participate in PRA and/or PRG sponsored recovery initiatives;
- Gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace;
- Promote your company’s role in developing recovery solutions through its PRA and/or PRG membership;
- Gain access to recovered materials;
- Help increase the volume of marketable recovered materials; and
- Network with your suppliers and/or customers.
Members’ Guiding Principles
Interested organizations must be willing to adhere to the PRA and PRG’s guiding principles for its members:
- Public commitment to working in a transparent and collaborative manner to set and achieve quantitative objectives that move the industry closer to solutions;
- Active participation that will set direction and priorities through a consensus-building process based on facts and grounded in fairness;
- Dedication of individual company resources, both human and financial, to drive change and support the goal and tactics of the PRA and/or PRG;
- Acknowledgement that members may have different internal strategies, as long as these are not contrary to the goal and tactics of the PRA and/or PRG; and
- Acknowledgement that as learning organizations, the PRA and PRG will continue to evolve and change into the future.
