Senior Project Log

I Team Meetings
8/28/09 Met with Tom in the Connelly Center at 2:30pm to discuss software options that would adequately display and take advantage of the capabilities of the multi-touch table. Decided that in addition to creating a casino-type game, we would also create a checking-in application that would be geared toward checking in families at scheduled tour times. On the front-end, there will be a web-site that students can access and enter in all necessary personal information in addition to the time and date of the tour they wish to take. This data will be dumped into a database. The checking-in application will pull data from the database based on tour date and time. The table will display a list of all the students scheduled for the next available tour time. When a student arrives, he will find his name on the touch screen and select it. This will prompt a digital copy of his information card. The application will ask the student to verify the information that the student submitted on-line when registering for the tour. The student can edit info by clicking on the field he wishes to correct, which will prompt an on-screen keyboard. Once completed, he will click no more changes to be made and the application will register that student as having attended his tour.
In addition, reviewed the logistics of creating the table and discussed our funding options and parts list.
