Race to the Moon
“Yes!” yelled Max jumping out of bed excitedly. “Wake up Gary” yelled Max. “It’s time to get ready!”
‘Brrrrinnnggg, brrrrinnnggg ‘, “hello” said Zac ” What do you want” . “I want you to get out of bed and stop being a lazy bug” said Max getting a bit frustrated. “But why?” asked Zac very confused. “Because, we need to go to NASA and find out what kind of adventure we are going on!” says Max. “Ohhh now I get it”. “Finally” sighed Max. “I’ll be at your house at 8:30 in 20 minutes” exclaimed Max excitedly. “Bye, see you soon!” said Zac anxiously trying to get to his wardrobe.
‘Ding dong! ’ “Hello” Max said excitedly”. “Are you ready?” “Yes” said Zac. “Let’s take our bikes to jack’s to see if he is ready to go to the NASA base.” “I’ll race you to his road” said Max. “Ok” said Zac confidently.
“On your marks, get set, go!” yells Zac.
“Haha I won” bragged Max.
“Come on slow coach”. “I’m coming!” yelled Zac riding on to Jacks driveway. “Ding, dong”. “Hello!” yelled Jack from inside his house, ”who is it?.” It’s your best friends” said Max surprised.
”Ohhh, hi guys, what do you want?” “Don’t you remember, we are going to the NASA’s base!”
”Ohhhh that’s right,I’ll be out in a second” Said Jack. ”Ok, I’m ready” said Jack excitedly. “Let’s race” Zac says happily.
“Here we are!” yelled Jack. ’BOOM BOOM!!’ the sound of pink team’s, pink car’s music. The shiny pink car drove into the NASA’s carpark.
”ha, look at those nerds” said the team captain. “Like totally” said another girl.
Finally the other team arrives. We all go up to the door and press the buzzer. “Ohh hello space children, come on in” said a creepy voice on the speaker. So we all forded in to the huge workshop. When everyone walked through the door, it automatically shut with big bang. Then we saw a man come out of the darkness on a hovering board. “Come over here” said the scary man pointing to us.
We start to walk over to him. We can hear the other teams chatting about what they think will happen. We start to get closer and closer to the man. When we get to the man, he opens up a door to the place where they make rockets. “This is amazing” said the pink team’s captain. We walk up to a table with a TV at the end. We all sit down at the table in our groups. The creepy man turns the TV on and floats away on his hover board. The TV has a message on it by the government saying “Dear children, I have decided to send you three teams up to space, to race to the MOON!. You will each get $10 000 from the government. So are you guys in?” said confident, we all say “YES WE ARE!” we suddenly see a huge garage door lift up to the roof of the workshop. The sun light glares in all our eyes, but behind the sun light there’s a huge open space full of space equipment. There’s everything that you need to go to space. There’s even a half built rocket that’s about three stories high building.
We all stand and gaze upon the rocket in amazement.
“You all will get $1000 dollars to buy whatever you need to get to space except a rocket of coarse” said the creepy man doing his creepy science laugh. We all get the money and race home to start building.
“I’ll meet you at my house” said Max. “Ok” said Jack, sounding like he wanted to start building the rocket right away, but he can’t.
When Max got home he went straight to the backyard to his secret laboratory in an old van that has been there ever since they bought the house.
‘Knock knock’ “are you in there?” asks Jack. “Can I?” asks Zac in the background. “Ok” said Max ready to start.
“Ok, these are the things that we will be doing. Zac you will figure out all the difficult stuff like how to build the engine ect. Jack you will be getting the materials to build the rocket. I will be finding the perfect place to launch and building the launch pad.” said Max gasping for air. “So chop chop!”
Jack and Max bolt out of the van door leaving Zac to do his business on his own futuristic computer. While he does that, Max and Jack get some scrap metal from Max’s Dad’s boilermaker shop. Max gets all the materials he needs to make the launcher and starts to build it in the middle of his quarter of the farm. He goes to his secret laboratory in the van to check how Zac was going and to research the other parts he needs to make the launch pad. When Max gets in the van, he can’t see Zac anywhere but after he looked on the desk he finds a note that said ‘I have just gone to the shop to buy what I need ‘ Max feels relieved knowing where Zac went. So instead he checked on how Jack was going. When he got there he was amazed on how well the rocket was going.
“Jack, you are doing amazing” exclaimed Max, come and have a break because I need to talk to you about something.
“Ok, be there in a second” said Jack exhaustedly. “Ahh, it’s nice to sit down” said Jack. “First do you know where Zac went?” asked Max.
“No I didn’t, why?” asked Jack confused.
"Oh, ok, I was wondering because he left a sticky note on the desk saying that he went to the shops.” Said Max getting a bit disturbed. “The second question is, how big do we need the launch pad? Is it going to be small, medium or large?” “I think it should be medium, well depending on how big the rocket is.” Said Jack. “Here’s a photo of how big it will be” said Max. Just after he showed the photo to Jack, Zac walked in. “Hello, what’s going on” asked Zac.” I was just asking Jack, what size the launch pad should be. What size do you think?” asked Max. “Don’t know, you can decide” said Zac. “Oh, thank you” said Max surprised. “So this is what I went out for. I got some jerrycan’s for if we run out of fuel when we need to return here. I also bought three soft seats for the rocket” explained Zac.
“Do you like my seats I bought” asked Zac anxiously hoping they like them. Yes I do” exclaimed Max. “Their very comfortable” said Jack. “Well, we should go to bed. Do you guys want to sleep over?” asked Max. “Yes, we will stay” said Zac half asleep. “Come on, we’ll sleep here for the night” said Max sounding exhausted.
“Come on boys, time to get up” said Max refreshed and ready for a new day. “Ohh no, it’s morning already!” said Zac disappointedly. They all get out of bed and start putting the seats in the half built rocket. Zac went out to get some gear to survive on the moon. So Jack and Max are still building rocket.
Some Time Later
“We finally got everything we need to have lift off, but first we need to get this engine in the rocket and get the oxygen inside the rocket ready for space” said Max anxiously. ‘Beep, beep, beep’ the sound of a folk lift lifting the engine into the rocket. It finally got in the rocket and was working perfectly. “Are we all ready for lift off?” asked Zac anxiously waiting to go. “All aboard!” yelled Max. So they all got in the rocket, put their oxygen masks on and had the oxygen tank full and ready of air for the landing. “Lift off in, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, LIFT OFF!!!!!”...
