BOUNDARIES NEW!
June 23rd -24th , Tuesday and Wednesday
18 Clock Hours or 2 Quarter Credits
The demands on educator's are ever increasing!! We are so busy helping and serving our students, their parents and our fellow staff that we can forget our own limitations! Everyone wants something and they wanted it yesterday. Saying “no” is controversial – but sometimes for your own sanity it is necessary so that you can enjoy your classroom as you seek to make a difference in the lives of your students. Boundaries are a way to describe our spheres of responsibility and by developing healthy boundaries we experience freedom to do our best for the kids in our classes. A great way to get ready for a new, satisfying and productive school year!

AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS NEW!
June 25th - 26th , Thursday and Friday
18 Clock Hours or 2 Quarter Credits
Students who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome) are part of the fastest growing epidemic that is affecting children worldwide. It is vitally important that educators become aware of these and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders,
so that they can understand the needs of these children and have appropriate expectations for them in the academic setting. Educators also need to have strategies for managing these students in their classrooms and an understanding of how to help them navigate (as appropriate) the social world of peers. These students and their families also have a dire need for early and effective “wrap around” services and this class will discuss this need, as well as how to assist and encourage parents as they are faced with this difficult challenge.
