THANKSGIVING PAGAN HOLIDAY?

Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen . . . -- Jer. 10:2

Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. -- Gal. 4:10

. . . whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. -- 1 Cor. 10:31

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. -- 1 John 2:15

They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. -- 1 John 4:5-6

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. -- James 4:4

The enemy has sown seeds of error among us. The pernicious Seven Day Baptists were the first Baptists to be drawn away into Sabbath keeping, by the Seven Day Adventists. Now, others are being drawn away to follow the New England Puritans, a sub-sect of the wicked, Protestant, Anglican Church, in their observance of the Jewish "Festival of Sukkos" or the "Feast of Succoth" or the "Feast of Tabernacles" or the "Feast of Ingathering," under the name and guise of "Thanksgiving!”

"According to the Bible, the feast was observed (15 of Tishrei), in ancient Palestine (as is observed today, wherever Jews live), as a holyday of Thanksgiving for the reason of ingathering. The early pilgrims harked back to the biblical account (O.T.) and so made Thanksgiving profoundly religious both in origin and manner of observance." -- American Board of Missions to the Jews (Calendar)

What did the Puritans do? They took a Jewish “holy day," from Leviticus 24:34, 39 and Exodus 23:16 and Christianized it! Gradually, it was mixed with pagan and heathen practices. It was celebrated, unequally yoked, with pagan Indians! Brethren, we must not allow ourselves to be put back under the Jewish law, by observing the Thanksgiving "Sabbath." If we observe one Sabbath, why not all the different Sabbaths? Next, we will be lighting "Sabbath" candles, and you know where that came from, don’t you?

Brethren, we must cease from these wicked practices. Who hath bewitched you? Have you been influenced by the "Judaizers?" Confess your wicked Thanksgiving observances, and come out from among them and be separate. Resist your Sabbath keeping relatives, despite the persecution! Shun that "evil and hateful bird" (Rev 18:2)! Reject the heathen "Jack O' Lantern" pies. Don’t frustrate the grace of God! Don’t return to the yoke of bondage! You cannot be neutral in this! All will be lost, and souls will be damned, if we compromise with this worldly practice! I implore you, give it up before it vexes your righteous soul!
