Functional Area: Benefits / Process Separation of Spouse or Dependent
Purpose
Use this procedure to terminate benefits for a spouse and/or dependent.
Trigger
Perform this procedure when a spouse and/or dependent notify HRSC that their benefits are no longer needed.
Prerequisites
The Add Retiree Spouse/Dependent Benefits (PA40) procedure must be performed before the separation can be processed.
Menu Path
Use the following menu path to begin this transaction:
  • Select Human Resources Personnel Management Administration HR Master Data Personnel Actions to go to the Personnel Actions screen.

Business Process Information
The Human Resources Services Center (HRSC) processes all aspects related to the termination of spouse and/or dependent benefits.
Helpful Hints
  • The R/O/C column in the field description tables below defines whether the field is required (R), optional (O) or conditional (C).
  • On certain screens you may have to scroll to view some data entry fields.
  • This procedure is also used to terminate spouse and/or dependent benefits if required payments are not made.
  • You can also use this procedure if a spouse and/or dependent has passed away.

Procedure
1. / Start the transaction using the menu path or transaction code.
Personnel Actions

2. / As required, complete/review the following fields:

Person ID / Required / The employee’s Person ID Number
Example:

Start / Required / Date and/or time when operation commences

3. / Click .

4. / Click to the left of Seperation-Retiree Spouse/Depe.

Copy Actions (0000)

6. / As required, complete/review the following fields:

Reason for Action / Required / Whenever a personnel action is run, it must be described by a reason

Create Vacancy

Create General Benefits Information (0171)

10. / Click .
/ The system displays the message, “Record created”.
/ When you process the termination of benefits, the General Benefits Information section should reflect the 1 st Program GroupingNon-employees and the 2 nd Program GroupingSpouse & Dependents.
11. / Click .

12. / Select to the left of All plans.
