OUR 7TH DRAW: This was held on the 24th July at Highlander. The 1st XV had played Marlow
that afternoon, winning a tough hard game 21/3. The 1st XI hockey didn’t have a school fixture
that afternoon so to give them a game Gunther Marx and Gary Frayne organised an invitation

OUR 8TH DRAW:This was held on K-Day at the Highlander after the 1st XV had won its match
43/15. The KC side never gave up and tackled like Trojans and the score could have been much
higher. KC’s scored 2 tries - one from an interception as we were about to score and the other
from a kick aheadwhich ran well for their wing to manage to dot down. The College side played
excellently and has, indeed, had a wonderful season, their only loss being that against Bishops.
The side and its reserves + the coaches are to be highly congratulated. The1st XI hockey fixture
had been played on Wednesday afternoon since all KC boys are available for their hockey side.
It was a fierce fast match with our goalie who had a great season, saving a good penalty corner
shot in full time to leave the result a 1/1 Draw. For our Draw we got Lisa Simpson, William’s wife
who also came in to help and check on the Draw, to give us our winners. These were -
1st Prize R1,750 No 390 Jonathan Witts-Hewinson of Benmore, Gauteng.

..... while Gavin Harvey’s number was drawn for the whiskey. As a non whiskey/alcohol drinker
he generously returned the whiskeyto be drawn for again - and Gavin Keeton’s number was
then drawn... whichhe accepted from Gavin Harveywith thanks and pleasure.
