News for September 2005

BWL supported Spearhead Exhibitions with specialist media activities for DSEi 2005, Europe’s largest defence and aerospace exhibition in London.. Paul Beaver acts as spokesman for DSEi, working in collaboration with Spearhead, DESO and the Defence Manufacturers Association.

Support was also give to the Battle of Britain Fighter Association, in conjunction with the Air League and the Royal Air Force Museum. BWL helped create the souvenir book and obtain sponsorship for the 65th Anniversary Banquet of the Few at RAF Northolt.

Paul Beaver has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and appointed Air Power Spokesman for the RAeS.

News for October 2005

BWL Analyst Alexis Everington spent ten days in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a fact-finding visit in conjunction with the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce and BAE Systems.

Dinner sucesful

BWL Director Paul Beaver attended the AeroSpace & Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) meeting in Berlin, supporting Newsdesk Media Group and in his role as Editor of the ASD annual publication. BWL is now coordinating the editorial input for the UK Ministry of Defence’s DESO Annual Symposium publication, again supporting Newsdesk Media Group.

BWL worked with its favourite charity, SSAFA Forces Help, to support the sponsorship and organisation of the Defence Industry Dinner. The event was a major success with strong MoD and Industry participation. It was decided that the dinner is to be held annually. In further support, BWL worked with Newsdesk Media Group to create a souvenir book to mark this important event.

News for November 2005

BWL was appointed by the Frontier Consortium to advise on its bid for the cross-government e-borders competition. The project will be a major step forward in plans by the UK to secure its borders against external threats

News for December 2005

BWL was appointed by Newsdesk Media Group to edit and commission the ASD (Aerospace and Defence Industries Association) Yearbook for 2006

Paul Beaver was intimately involved with the forthcoming National Geographic TV programme ‘Super Chopper’ that focuses on the EH101 Merlin helicopter. The programme was successfully screened in North America and comes to Europe. Details of screening times will appear on the website when available.

News for January 2006

Paul Beaver has been appointed a Corporate Ambassador for SSAFA and has joined the Committee responsible for preparing the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Army Air Corps.
