Rules and Regulations

The following rules and regulations are for the protection and benefit of all members. They have been established to promote safe and sanitary operation of the pool facilities. Parents are required to instruct their children to observe all rules and obey all instructions of the pool manager and/or any other pool employee while they are in the performance of their duties. The pool manager, and, in the manager’s, absence the assistant manager shall have full authority to interpret and enforce Club rules and regulations.

Any failure to comply with any of these rules may be considered sufficient cause for immediate suspension of pool privileges by the manager or assistant manager of the offending member for a period of up to two (2) days. The Board of Governors may determine suspension for a longer period, except where these rules and regulations provide for specific penalties under certain circumstances. The Board of Governors may consider serious or repeated offense sufficient cause for cancellation of membership.

POOL HOURS

The pool will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., except Sundays, when the pool will open at 12:00 noon.

In July the Pool hours:

·  Monday - Thursday 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 PM.

·  Friday 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 PM

·  Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 PM

·  Sundays 12:00 noon to 9:00 PM.

The hours of operation during the first 2 weeks of the season will vary and will be posted at the front desk. The pool will not be available for general swimming during home swim meets.

The Social and/or recreation committees in conjunction with the Board of Governors, may designate special nights or hours for adult or teenage swims, or for other social events.

The pool may be closed for maintenance operations, health conditions, weather, or any other reason deemed sufficient or necessary by the pool manager or the assistant manager in the manager's absence.

Water will be closed 5 minutes prior to the gates being closed.

Members' Obligations

Each member will sign a signature card, which will be kept in the Pool Office, and which will also serve as identification for entry onto the pool grounds.

No member will be admitted to the pool grounds until he/she has signed the daily attendance sheet, and the signature has been found to be identical with that on the card.

Any member found transferring their membership privileges to another person, and/or attempting to enter the pool by signing another person's name will have their pool rights suspended;

·  First offense--up to two weeks suspension of all membership privileges.

·  Second offense--suspension of all membership privileges for the remainder of the season, subject to review and final decision by the Board of Governors. If deemed appropriate by the Board, repeated violations of this rule will be cause for cancellation of membership.

A staff member MUST test all new members and all pool guests under the age of 16, who desire to swim, before using the main pool for the first time. A swimmer shall be defined as one who is able to swim one (1) length of the pool, and tread water for one (1) minute, immediately thereafter.

The cost of any property damage caused by a member will be charged to that member. Parents of children are responsible for conduct of their children, and will be liable for property damage caused by them. Likewise, members are responsible for the conduct of, and damages caused by their guests.

Persons using any of the Club facilities do so at their own risk. The club is not responsible for any personal injury, accident, property damage or theft resulting from such use.

Conduct

Members shall drive safely while on pool property, and shall not exceed a speed of 10 miles per hour thereon. There will be no parking of vehicles in restricted areas.

All bicycles are to be parked AND locked in the bicycle racks ONLY.

Any damage sustained on pool property must be reported to the pool manager or his assistant immediately.

No abusive language or fighting will be allowed.

All food, refreshments and cooking fires shall be confined to the designated picnic areas.

Members using recreation and picnic areas are responsible for the condition of such areas. Trash must be deposited in receptacles provided.

The manager or assistant manager, may restrict to certain areas, (depending on crowd conditions, etc) ball playing and or other such activity.

No alcoholic liquors, malt beverages or other intoxicants may be consumed nor brought on club property; except with the consent of the Board of Governors.

Any member or guest deemed to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages or drugs will not be permitted to enter or remain on the pool grounds.

All children utilizing the Kiddy pool MUST WEAR plastic pants--if they are not yet toilet trained.

Violation of the above can result in:

·  Decking , (sitting by the guard stand for a period of time).

·  Up to two weeks suspension of all membership privileges.

·  Suspension of all membership privileges for the remainder of the season, subject to review and final decision by the Board of Governors. If deemed appropriate by the Board, repeated violations of the conduct rules will be cause for cancellation of membership.

Health and Safety

Admission to the pool may be refused to anyone with a cold, cough, inflamed eyes, infections, wearing bandages, etc., at the discretion of the manager or his assistant.

All children must be toilet trained before being allowed to use the main pool. Therefore no diapers of any kind are allowed in the main pool.

No smoking on the pool deck, or within 10 feet of the pool deck. Dispose of: matches, cigarette, cigar butts, etc. in a proper receptacle.

No pets are allowed on club property at any time.

No toys, flotation devices, rafts or other paraphernalia shall be used in the main pool except that the manager may authorize the use of "swimmies" worn on a child's arms, "bubble on a back", or a swim-vest with a tube, under direct parental supervision--and ONLY in the shallow end of the pool. Other flotation devices may be used ONLY with prior approval of the Board of Governors.

Expectorating or blowing of noses in the pool is prohibited.

No glass jars, bottles and/or containers, or glass items of any kind are permitted on pool property.

No running, pushing, dunking, wrestling, ball playing, or other undue and possibly dangerous disturbance will be permitted in or about the pool and pool decking.

PARENTS MUST SUPERVISE THEIR CHILDREN IN THE KIDDY POOL AT ALL TIMES. NON SWIMMERS UNDER THE AGE OF EIGHT (8) ARE ONLY PERMITTED IN THE MAIN POOL WHEN UNDER DIRECT PARENTAL OR SIMILAR ADULT SUPERVISION.

Children’s' Use of POOL Facilities

No child will be allowed to use the main pool until a staff member has given the child a qualification test.

Only children who are qualified swimmers will be allowed in the deep end of the pool, unaccompanied by an adult.

Children who are beginning swimmers may enter the deep end of the pool only when accompanied in the water by an adult.

Children who are non-swimmers are not permitted in the deep end of the pool AT ANY TIME.

USE OF THE KIDDY POOL IS LIMITED TO NON SWIMMERS SIX YEARS OR UNDER. No metal or rigid plastic toys or flotation devices are permitted in the kiddy pool.

Admission of children to the pool property is limited as follows:

Children under ten (10) years of age may not enter or remain on pool property unless accompanied by a member fourteen (14) years of age or older, who is also a qualified swimmer.

Children ten (10) years of age through thirteen (13) who are qualified swimmers may enter the pool property and have full use thereof, unaccompanied by an adult, PROVIDED that written permission has been submitted to the manager by parent or guardian, at the beginning of each season, and that the consent of the manager is obtained. Permission slips are available at the front desk. They do not carry over from season to season. The manger for misconduct or any other valid reason may revoke admission.

Decisions of the pool manager, and assistant manager concerning admission of children, and other matters of health and safety will be considered final.

Guests

Each member family shall be entitled to seventy-five (75) regular guest admissions per season. Individual guests will be limited to twelve (12) admissions per season, regardless of sponsorship. This includes non-swimmers under twenty-one (21) years of age, but does not include bona fide house guests.

Widows, widowers, divorced or legally separated persons who are bondholders of the Rivercrest Cabana Club will be permitted to bring an adult guest an unlimited number of times during the season. Such guests will be admitted to the pool at the prevailing guest rates for that particular day. Such guests, accompanied by the member, will also be admitted to all adult social functions held during the season that normally would be restricted to members only.

Additional guest privileges may be granted for special club-sponsored events, written notice of which (including any special guest rates) will be posted in advance by the appropriate committee.

The Board of Governors retains the right to limit the number of guests brought in on any single occasion. . Members desiring to bring more then 15 guests must make application in writing at least one week in advance of the date sought. The Board of Governors may approve such applications and require the host pool member to pay the cost of additional lifeguards if deemed necessary by the Board.

All guests must be accompanied by a sponsoring member fourteen (14) years of age or older when on pool grounds, and must be registered in and out with the sponsoring member present.

Conduct of guests is the direct responsibility of the sponsoring member(s).

Members are responsible for the return of tags or other forms of identification that may be issued to their guests.

Guest rates are as follows:

·  Weekdays

-- Adults (16 and over) $6.00

-- Children (15 and under) $5.00

-- Infants (non-walking) free

·  Saturday, Sunday and Holidays

--Adults (16 and over) $7.00

--Children (15 and under) $6.00

--Infants (non-walking) free

·  Non swimmers and senior citizens age 60 or older will be charged $2.00 at all times.

·  Bona fide house guests will, upon advance application of a member, be granted guest privileges at a special rate of $25.00 per family unit per week, or portion thereof; $15.00 for adults over 15 years of age; $10.00 for children under 16 years of age; no charge for non-walking infants. These rates reflect one-half of what a single member would pay.

The Board of Governors may grant additional privileges in special cases, on a case by case basis. Members desiring such additional or special privileges must make application in writing at least five days in advance.

Members giving false information when registering a guest will have their pool privileges suspended.

·  Second offense- cancellation of membership upon review and decision by the Board of Governors.
