Classic Albums Live to Perform Pink Floyd at the Weinberg Center
FREDERICK, Md., Tuesday, September 27, 2016 — Known for their impeccable recreation of timeless hits, Classic Albums Live will perform at the Weinberg Center for the Arts on Saturday, October 22 at 8:00pm. Note for note, cut for cut, the musical collective strives to recreate one of the world’s bestselling albums, Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.
Tickets begin at $25 and may be purchased online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the Box Office at 301.600.2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick St. Discounts are available for students, children, military, and seniors.
Classic Albums Live takes classic albums from the 60’s and 70’s and recreates them live on stage. Using the world's best musicians, fans are treated to an exact replication of the album followed by a second set of the featured artist's greatest hits. Musicians are chosen according to their sound and their fit into a particular niche, be it David Bowie, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, or The Stones. The album might require a sitar player, a children's choir, a string quartet or someone to ring the alarm clock. Whatever it takes, the musicians treat these revered albums like a score… the way a symphony orchestra treats Mozart.
“Dark Side of the Moon is on many people’s ‘Desert Island Lists,’” said Executive Theater Manager John Healey. “The chance to hear it performed live by incredibly talented musicians is a rare treat.”
