Visitors should not touch the animals unless encouraged by their handlers. Hands should be washed thoroughly using the dedicated hand washing facilities provided both immediately after coming into contact with any animals or animal related products and again before eating. Teachers should supervise children washing their hands to ensure it is carried out thoroughly. Our hand washing facilities have been provided taking into consideration the number of visitors, time of year, temporary nature of event, duration and location of event and using HSE information sheet 23 – Preventing or controlling ill health from animal contact at visitor attractions. Stewards and exhibitors are briefed to encourage all visitors to carry out effective hand washing, supported by directional and advisory signage. No eating or drinking should take place in the animal area. Visitors should not KISS the animals. / L

No other similar equipment will be allowed on site unless as part of a display and by prior agreement with the event organiser. Any fuel used for vehicles/generators is stored in dedicated containers in the custody and control of a nominated official and dispensed by them in a secure manner. Fuel receptacles are positioned outside the exhibition tents. / L
All Visitors / Electrical Equipment / Shock, burns / M / L / M / Visitors are prohibited from touching or interfering with electrical equipment, unless doing so with permission from the exhibitor as part of their demonstration. All electrical equipment brought onto site will be by prior arrangement with the event organiser. Maintenance records, electrical supplies and equipment to be checked by the organiser. An ELCB or RCD should be used when demonstrating and using electrical equipment. / L

Risk assessments are received, reviewed, approved and held in office prior to the event and also monitored during the event. / L
All Visitors / Fire / Various. / M / L / M / In case of fire on site, stewards should ensure that visitors in their area leave the exhibit area by the nearest exit. In the event of a fire, Stewards will direct schools to an appropriate assembly point. Any missing persons should made known to a Steward. Fire Extinguishers are in place around the site. Generators are fenced off. Marquees are clad in fire retardant materials. Adequate segregation between marquees is observed. All known fire risks have been assessed and any necessary controls put in place. / L
All visitors / Site Traffic / Various. / Low / Only dedicated event buggies (RTVs) are permitted to be moving around the site during the day. Any other vehicles will not be allowed access to the area without escort. Vehicles dropping off or collecting exhibits have a dedicated route and dedicated parking area. The main gates shall be manned throughout the event to ensure controlled entry/exit.
